Nothing beats a classicanimeseries. Their stories are timeless, their characters are phenomenal, but sometimes the animation can look a little dated especially if the studio was under pressure to finish by a deadline.

Remakes can take many forms. Some simply add a fresh coat of paint to an otherwise perfect series. Others trim the filler to improve the overall pacing. Finally, there are remakes that touch on a little bit of everything, turning a good series likeFull Metal Alchemistinto a great one withFull Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
10Naruto
Naruto,alongsideBleachandOne Piece,is part of the ‘Big Three’: immensely popular long running anime. There’s a reason this series is adored by fans and is still going strong todaywith it’s successor Boruto.Naruto has a dynamic story, interesting characters, and awesome powers.

One thing all Naruto fans can agree on is the sheer amount of filler in the series. The characters talk about fighting each other more than actually fighting each other. Naruto desperately needs theDragon Ball Kaitreatment. The studio should created a new, condensed series that removes all the fat and focuses on what makes the series great.
9Dragon Ball
Before the big letter Z there was a boy with a strange tail, his bald best friend, and their turtle hermit master.Dragon Ballfocused less on beam clashes andmore on strange techniques. Tien grew multiple arms, Krillin once threw his shoe at his opponent and won via stink; the series knew how to keep things interesting. Unfortunately, some Dragon Ball Z fans have never watched the original series.
A remake would encourage fans to watch the series to find out the origins of some of their favorite characters. Fans got a sneak peak when Goku and Krillin fought in Dragon Ball Super and the original series has never looked so good.
8Cowboy Bebop
Cowboy Bebopis one of the greats. The setting is unforgettable, the characters walk the line between hero and villain, and the show is surprisingly funny. Netflix has just finished filming their live action remake which will bring some much needed attention to the classic series.

Now that it’s getting a live action adaptation it may be time to double down and remake the original series. The animation is still top notch but some of the voice acting can be a little distracting when watching the series for the first time.
7Yu Yu Hakusho
Yu Yu Hakusho is a joy to watch from beginning to end. All the classic anime tropes are here with tournament arcs, interesting powers, and broody side characters. The series is a great starting point foranyone looking to get into animeand a welcome treat for long time fans to re-watch.
The animation can look a little dated and in 2018 fans were treated to an OVA that showed just how good the series could look if it was remade today.
6Inuyasha
Inuyashais a strange series that focuses on time travel and Yokai: demon creatures that range from two-tailed cats to the main hero himself. Unfortunately, the show isn’t as popular asother Isekai animeand a remake would help remedy that.
Inuyasha’sremake would only need to tweak a few things: enhance the animation, tighten the storytelling, and cover the entire show as the original series was split in two in order to wait for the manga to catch up.
5Death Note
Death Notehas many iconic moments throughout the series such as Light taking a potato chip…and EATING IT. The series is phenomenal but the 2017 live action remake left a bitter taste in many fans' mouths.

Despite being a nail biting, high stakes series, the show is starting to look a little dated. Some jaw-dropping new visuals would go along way to retell the story plus a smaller spin off manga was introduced that showcased a character wanting to sell the death note. Whilst not being very long, this story could be included when Light’s story comes to an end.
4Yu-Gi-Oh!
It’s time to d-d-d-d-duel!Yu-Gi-Ohis one of the greatest card game anime of all time and is still going strong today. Many fans still cite the original series to be the best. Nothing beats the corny charm of the original and it’s extremely fun to go back and re-watch Yugi cheat his way through several duels.
A remake would help cement the rules of the world as throughout the seriesthey were constantly changing as the card game progressedand became what we know it as today.
3Soul Eater
Soul Eaterneeds theFull Metal Alchemist: Brotherhoodtreatment. Halfway through the anime the show veered off from the manga, much like the originalFull Metal Alchemist,and started changing the storyline.
Many fans credit this as the reason why the show was canceled. A remake that sticks to the manga’s storyline would be the resurgence this series so desperately needs.
2Bleach
Bleach, as one of the ‘Big 3’, is an extremely popular anime spanning many seasons. Although the anime is one of the longest-running, it still hasn’t told the full story.The Thousand Year Blood War arc has yet to make it to the small screen.
If the studio behindBleachplan to tell this story it might be time to remake the series instead. The animation could do with an update and the needless filler arcs could be cut out entirely.
1Ouran Highschool Host Club
Ouran Highschool Host Clubis a strange anime where a team of silver tongue charmers boost the confidence of their female classmates. A second season is currently in the works and rumored to be releasing this year after a 15 year long hiatus.
After such a long stretch of time, the studio may be better off remaking the series entirely in order to gain new fans for that second season.
