Ahsokaseason 2 may be the most anticipatedStar Warsshow at the moment, but with this new season, there are a couple of things I’m desperate to see.Ahsokaseason 1 was a mixed bag; big fans of Ahsoka Tano and the animatedStar Wars Rebelsenjoyed it, but it also had some flaws that led to a lower ranking for others.

One of the best aspects ofAhsokaseason 1 was the introduction of another galaxy, which is where Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn had been exiled to following the Battle of Lothal in theRebelsseries finale. This creates an interesting dynamic going into season 2, with Ahsoka and Sabine Wren trapped on Peridea with Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.

However, back in the mainStar Warsgalaxy, Grand Admiral Thrawn will be planning and likely executing his plan against the New Republic. Based on theAhsokapanel fromStar WarsCelebration 2025, it’s known that Thrawn will engage the New Republic and go toe-to-toe with Admiral Ackbar.

This idea of battles on two different fronts, a galaxy apart, is certainly interesting and one I’m excited to see play out onscreen, in addition to these ten things that need to happen.

10Ahsoka Season 2 Needs to Redeem Hera Syndulla And Ezra Bridger’s Reunion

After Season 1’s Lackluster Reunion

One of the complaints fromRebelsfans following the release ofAhsokaseason 1 was that Ezra Bridger’s reunion with Hera Syndulla in the final episode didn’t pack the emotional punch it should have. Because Ezra and Hera see one another as family, the fact that there was no embrace from the pair felt a little disingenuous.

With Ezra back in the mainStar Warsgalaxy and working with the New Republic,it’s essential that audiences get to see the relationship between Hera and Ezra. Hera was always the voice of reason, so seeing those old dynamics fromRebelstranslate intoAhsokais key not just for fans, but for continuity reasons.

Ahsokaseason 2 has the chance to correct the mistakes of season 1 and improve upon the things that worked. Individually, Hera and Ezra’s characters were great; now,Dave Filoni has to verify they work just as well together.

9Shin Hati Has To Team Up With Ahsoka And Sabine On Peridea

Especially If She Ever Wants to Go Home

Shin Hati’s ending inAhsokaseason 1 showed her essentially abandoned by everyone. Her master, Baylan Skoll, had left her to pursue something else calling to him, and Thrawn and the Nightsisters left Peridea and that galaxy behind. While Shin has teamed up with some locals, it’s clear that’s not where she belongs.

Fans have wanted to see Shin and Sabine team up since they first interacted, and it’s possible that between Sabine and Ahsoka, they may be able to connect with Shin and get her to move toward the light side of the Force.

It was clear thatShin and Baylan weren’t Jedi, but also weren’t aligned with the dark side, meaning there’s hope for a team-up. It’s also Shin Hati’s best chance of getting home.

8I Need To See Ezra Bridger Reuniting With Zeb Orrelios

It’s The Rebels Reunion We’ve Been Waiting For

Zeb Orrelioswas the first main character fromRebelsto appear in live-action when he cameoed inThe Mandalorianseason 3 on Adelphi Base.Zeb is set to appear in the upcoming movieThe Mandalorian and Grogu, but is also confirmed to be appearing inAhsokaseason 2.

While it’s clear that the Ghost crew has been scattered across the galaxies for a while, it’ll be great to see the reunion between Zeb and Ezra Bridger.

While it’s clear that theGhostcrew has been scattered across the galaxies for a while, it would be great to see the reunion between Zeb and Ezra Bridger. The two were bunkmates for years, anddespite Zeb’s gruff exterior, he genuinely cares for Ezraand would likely be thrilled he’s back.

7I Can’t Wait To See Admiral Ackbar Shine In Combat

And Against Thrawn No Less

When Dave Filoni announced atStar WarsCelebration 2025 thatAdmiral Ackbar would feature inAhsokaseason 2, Legends fans rejoiced. In the now non-canonicalHeir to the Empirenovel series, it was Admiral Ackbar who faced off in combat against Grand Admiral Thrawn, and it seems Filoni is recanonizing those events.

We haven’t seen much of Admiral Ackbar inStar Wars, though his infamous“It’s a trap!”lives on. So,having more characterization of Ackbar, as well as getting to see his military prowess, will be a treat. I hopeAhsokaseason 2 gives Admiral Ackbar the screentime he deserves.

6The Highly Anticipated Epic Rematch Between Ahsoka And Baylan

It May Be Hard to Top Season 1

After the unfortunate passing of Baylan Skoll actor Ray Stevenson, it has been announced that Stevenson’s real-life friend, Rory McCann, will be taking over the role. While it’s still the same character, it’ll be interesting to see how McCann will match up with Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano.

InAhsokaseason 1,Ahsoka and Baylan dueled twice, once with Baylan as the clear winner, and the second time ending in essentially a draw.Dave Filoni has all but confirmed that the two will meet and duel once again, but it will be hard to improve upon what we saw in season 1.

While I do not doubt Rory McCann’s ability to portray Baylan, the duels from season 1 were so good and filled with emotion that it will be interesting to see what Dave Filoni has in store for season 2.

5I Need Some More Nightsister Magick

After How Great It Was in Season 1

The Great Motherswere an interesting and welcome addition toAhsokaseason 1, and with Thrawn and the Great Mothers traveling to Dathomir, it’s clear that more Nightsister dark magick is in store for season 2.

It’s unclear what role the Nightsisters will have moving forward, but it may interfere with the New Republic’s ability to fight and defeat Thrawn. Additionally,Thrawn’s men transported something from the catacombs on Peridea, so that will likely come into play.

The Great Mothers may be looking to either rebuild the Nightsisters of Dathomir or simply give Thrawn more soldiers for his war.

4My Rebels Heart Wants To See Ezra Agreeing To Train Jacen Syndulla As A Jedi

Rather Than Someone Else

As a hugeRebelsfan,I’m aching to see Ezra Bridger interact with his master, Kanan Jarrus, and Hera Syndulla’s son, Jacen. It was shown inAhsokaseason 1 that Jacen had some natural talent when it came to using the Force, so having Ezra back may be the perfect way for Jacen to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Though we know Luke Skywalker is out there training younglings, Ezra’s unconventional training would bode well for Jacen and also allow him to still be connected to his mother and other people who care for and love him.

I can think of no better person to train Jacen than Ezra Bridger. Though we know Luke Skywalker is out there training younglings, Ezra’s unconventional training would bode well for Jacen and also allow him to still be connected to his mother and other people who care for and love him.

3I Still Can’t Figure Out What’s Going On With The Mortis Gods Statues

And I’m Desperate to Know

One of the final shots ofAhsokaseason 1 saw Baylan Skoll standing atop a large rock statue of the Father, one of theMortis gods. Statues of the other two Mortis gods, the Son and the Daughter, were also there, but fans still have no clue why they’re there.

There have been a lot of theories and speculation online about what the Mortis Gods' roles are inAhsokaseason 2, butwe truly don’t know what Dave Filoni has planned. Some theorize that the thing that was calling Baylan was the Mortis Gods themselves, or possibly the Legends antagonistAbeloth.

Others theorize that Ahsoka and Baylan are destined to take over the roles of two of the Mortis gods. It’s unclear what’s right or what will happen, but no matter what, this is a plot point that needs to be resolved inAhsokaseason 2.

2Ahsoka Season 2 Can See Hera Syndulla And Leia Organa Teaming Up To Fight Thrawn

Season 1 Teased This

It’s clear that Hera knows and is friends with Senator Leia Organa; however, Leia never physically appeared inAhsokaseason 1.There have been calls for years for Carrie Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, to take over the role of Leia, andAhsokaseason 2 might just be the place to do that.

With Leia being such an important part of the story during theNew Republic era, it will be essential for her to appear, at least in cameo fashion.Ahsokaseason 2 could see Hera and Leia teaming up to create battle plans and run defense for the New Republic against Grand Admiral Thrawn.

1I Can’t Wait To See Thrawn’s Brilliant Military Strategy Again

Especially as an Underdog

Thrawn has come back to the mainStar Warsgalaxy with few resources and allies. Though the New Republic is largely decommissioning its fleet, it’s clear that they have superior firepower. We’ve only really seen Thrawn in a position of power, soseeing his brilliance shine when he’s outmatched will be a treat.

Thrawn is a master strategist, and this is his time to truly shine and show the New Republic that he isn’t someone to take lightly. We’ve seen his brilliance before, but seeing it against a foe like Admiral Ackbar will be something else entirely.

WithAhsokaseason 2 on its way, fans are likely itching for any bit of information they can get. For now, however, we can still keep dreaming of what we all want to see whenAhsokareturns for season 2.
