20Queen Guitarist Brian May Played “Bohemian Rhapsody” With Benson Boone
One of the biggest moments of Coachella 2025 Weekend One was when Queen guitarist Brian May came out to play “Bohemian Rhapsody” with Benson Boone during his Main Stage set on Friday. Boone channeled Freddie Mercury and Queen’s energy throughout his set, which makes May’s appearance pitch-perfect. Hopefully Boone, who had one of the best performances of the festival, will bring May out again for another epic performance.
19Charli XCX Brought Out Troye Sivan, Lorde, & Billie Eilish
English pop star Charli XCX had a killer set on the Main Stage on Saturday, bringing out three iconic guest stars, including Troye Sivan, Lorde, and Billie Eilish. After her 2024 albumBratbecame a massive hit, she released an entire remix album full of guest features, which were put on full display at Coachella 2025. She and Sivan performed “Talk Talk”, while Lorde came out for her verse on “Girl, so confusing” before Billie hit the stage for the “Guess” remix.
18Clairo Invited Bernie Sanders To Speak Before Her Set
Clairo notably kicked off her set with a cold open from Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who made a brief speech about the future of the United States covering issues concerning the American people, such as women’s rights to abortion, a self-serving billionaire economy, a broken healthcare system, and the dangers of the fossil fuel industry. Clairo and her band went on to give handshakes to Sanders before performing a captivating set.
17Zedd Brought Out John Mayer, Maren Morris, & Ellie Goulding
Zedd had one of the top sets on Sunday, and the festival, for that matter, which was cemented by his number of surprise guests. He brought out singers Maren Morris, Julia Michaels, Bea Miller, and Elley Duhé before hitting the stage with John Mayer, who played guitar on “Automatic Yes” and “New Light” as Zedd played drums.
16Gesaffelstein Appeared During Lady Gaga’s Headlining Set
French DJ and EDM producer Gesaffelstein, who played at Coachella 2024, appeared during Lady Gaga’s extraordinary headlining set on Friday. He appeared well into the performance, which many are calling the best of the entire festival, to collab with Gaga on “Killah”, one of the 20 songs on her setlist.
15Green Day Brought Fans To The Stage & Called Out “MAGA Agenda”
Green Day proved that their 2004 albumAmerican Idiotis even more relevant today with an explosive and spirited performance on Saturday night. Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong changed the lyrics of a few of his songs to reflect the current political climate, shouting “I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda” and calling for aid for children in Palestine. In a rare move for a Coachella headliner, Armstrong also brought two fans from the audience to help sing “Know Your Enemy” and “Good Riddance.”
Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic Orchestra had some of the most unexpected surprise guests, including Laufey, Maren Morris, Becky G, Ca7riel & Paco Amoroso, Zedd, and LL Cool J. In a truly one-of-a-kind experience, Dudamel and the LA Phil delivered some of the most pleasant surprises of Cochallea 2025 Weekend One.
13Mustard Featured Tyga, 2 Chainz, YG, Big Sean, Roddy Ricch, & Ella Mai
Surprise guests were not-so-much of a surprise at Mustard’s late-night set on Friday night (although regrettably, there was no Kendrick Lamar or “Not Like Us” performance). Still, Mustard celebrated his legendary hip-hop career, playing a variety of classics and modern hits from his discography. He brought out Tyga for “Rack City”, 2 Chainz for “I’m Different”, YG for multiple songs, Big Sean for “I Don’t F88k With You”, Roddy Rich for “The Box” and “Ballin'”, and Ella Mai for “Boo’d Up.”
12Travis Scott Played 2 Unreleased Songs “Oh Jacques” & “She Going Dumb”
Travis Scott performed two unreleased songs, “Oh Jacques” & “She Going Dumb”, toward the beginning of his Saturday night set. Scott also played a slate of popular songs from various albums, including “90210”, “STARGAZING”, and “I KNOW?”, and featured a live orchestra. Scott could very well switch things up for an even bigger Weekend Two set.
11Becky G Hit The Stage During Tyla’s Performance
Becky G hit the stage for a surprise appearance during Tyla’s set on the Outdoor Theatre on Friday afternoon. They performed their joint song “On My Body” at the beginning of Tyla’s performance, which also included her popular tracks “PUSH 2 START” and “Water”. Becky G also performed with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic Orchestra.
