Below Deckhas been a popular Bravo show for over a decade, but there are cast members who only appeared for one season and should come back.Bosun Wihan Du Toithas flip-flopped between love interests, sharing a drunken kiss with Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph, going on a date with Stew Marina Marcondes de Barros, and writing acringeworthy love letter to Adair Werley. After Wihan got fired, it became clear he would be a one-season wonder, never to return.
There are manyBelow Deckcast members who have starred in the show for several seasons, includingChief Stew Daisy Kelliher, former Bravo icon Kate Chastain, and newly retired Captain Lee Rosbach. However, other iconic cast members only appeared in the franchise for one season. Here are eight who should make a triumphant return.
8Mads Herrera
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Mads Herrera brought great energy toBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 4, and it would be great to see her back aboard the Parsifal III. Mads had an adventurous spirit that was hard to ignore. Off duty, she was all about skydiving and dirt biking, but on charter, she proved she could keep up with the demands of luxury service under pressure. She was better than Danni Warren and Diana Cruz, the stews duringBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 5.
One of the biggest storylines tied toMads involved her messy boatmance with Bravo bad boy Gary King. Though the relationship started light and fun, with Mads making it clear she wasn’t looking for anything serious things, quickly spiraled into classicBelow Deckdrama territory. Despite Gary’s usual antics, she mostly kept her cool. With a compelling mix of fun, resilience, and zero tolerance for nonsense, Mads would be a welcome return cast member onBelow Deck Sailing Yacht, especially if the franchise finally fires Gary.
7Sydney Zaruba
Another cast member whose time onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtwas marred by Gary was Sydney Zaruba, who deserves another shot on the hit Bravo spinoff. With sailing in her blood, as she was born while her parents were living on a boat, Sydney entered the Parsifal III with more traditional sailing experience than most of her crewmates. That real-world know-how gave her a definite leg up.
Sydney’s infamous love triangle with Gary and Alli was one of many for the troubled South African First Officer.
Unfortunately,Sydney is remembered for her messy entanglement with Gary. After a one-night stand early in the season, Sydney developed feelings for Gary, who promptly moved on to Alli Dore. The ensuing love triangle became one of the most talked-about storylines of the season, with Sydney feeling disappointed and hurt. Sydney is proof it’s time for Gary to move on and make room for better crew members onboard the Parsifal III.
6Josiah Carter
Below Deck
Introduced inBelow Deckseason 6,former Stew Josiah Cartershould consider making his return to the franchise. Trained as a butler and well-versed in luxury service, he quickly became Kate’s right-hand man. Their dynamic duo kept the interior running like a well-oiled machine, and their dry humor helped make season 6 one of the franchise’s most beloved.
Josiah probably would have appeared in more seasons if not for travel restrictions due to COVID-19.
Josiah was cool under pressure and shared Kate’s vision of what it meant to provide solid service. He managed drama without getting dragged into it, which was much appreciated by Captain Lee. Unfortunately, his comeback was cut short due to COVID-related travel restrictions. He popped up onGalley Talk, weighing in on the drama with the same wit and good vibes from season 6. Outside the show,Josiah found happiness with his fiancé, Michael Groves, and the two have built a life together in the UK. Perhaps he’d be ready to return to the franchise for another season.
5Marcos Spaziani
Chef Marcos Spaziani joined theBelow Deck Sailing Yachtcrew in season 3, and he became a fusion food king who should return for another season. From lavish five-course meals to last-minute guest requests, he proved he could handle any challenge thrown his way, all while keeping his cool in the chaotic galley. One time, he even sliced his scalp open mid-charter and still finished service before seeking treatment.
Chef Johnathan Shillingford could learn a thing or two about maintaining service with a cool head from Chef Marcos.
Despite his fan-favorite status,Chef Marcos chose not to return for another season. He felt that the nature of reality TV was too unpredictable, and he didn’t want to risk getting a bad edit in the future. Since leaving the show, he’s focused on expanding Lou’Mar, his Beverly Hills restaurant, and he seems eager to return to reality TV if it’s for a cooking show, not the drama of theBelow Deckfranchise. However, the franchise could use an even-keeled and endlessly professional Chef like him.
4Paget Berry
Unsurprisingly, Paget Berry’s name has been floated around as a potential comeback because ofGary’s drama onBelow Deck Sailing Yacht. He was the First Officer onBelow Deck Sailing Yachtseason 1 before Gary took over the position. First Officer. He was calm and competent, but his romantic drama also packed a punch. Paget worked closely with his then-girlfriend Ciara Duggan, who was also part of the crew, and while their relationship seemed steady at first, things took a turn when third stew Georgia Grobler began openly flirting with him.

Regardless, Paget and Ciara got engaged in 2020, but the relationship eventually unraveled, and they split in 2021. After stepping away from the show, Paget was candid about his disappointment with how Bravo edited his storyline. He claimed the show exaggerated drama and distorted his character, leading him to swear off future appearances. However, in the years since his exit, he may have reconsidered, especially given Gary’s bad behavior.Paget could be the one to swoop in and save the day.
3Wes Walton
Below Deck Mediterranean
While it’s fun to tune intoBelow Deckfor the drama, Wes Walton kept things calm onBelow Deck Mediterranean. As the Bosun,Wes stood out for his quiet confidence, even while caught in a bit of a love triangle with Malia White and Chef Adam Glick. Unlike many cast members who spiral when romance mixes with work, Wes tried to keep things professional. His relationship with Malia continued after the season ended, but eventually fizzled out.
Wes was already an impressive yachtie, but his experience has only grown since leavingBelow Deck Mediterranean. His hustle paid off, as he’s now a Chief Officer and even got a Captain’s license. That real-world experience is yet another feather in his cap, and he would be a welcome returning cast member on another season ofBelow Deck Mediterraneanor another franchise spinoff.
2Alex Radcliffe
Alex was a one-season wonder onBelow Deck Mediterraneanseason 5 and should come back for another season. While the deck crew often finds itself at the center of chaotic moments,Alex is a guy better known for his sense of humor and hardworking nature. His flirtiness with Bugsy Drake provided the right dose of romance without devolving into full-blown boatmance messiness.
Alex was entertaining without bringing the drama, which is what the Below Deck franchise needs.
Alex proved he could handle the pressure of being Lead Deckhand. Since leaving the show, he’s taken his skills to the boat brokerage world, but hopefully, he hasn’t forgotten his yachtie roots. The franchise has been struggling with Deckhands lately, and he might need to make a return in future seasons. Alex represents the best of what the franchise can be without veering into toxic territory. Cast members like Wihan could’ve learned from him.
1Faye Clarke
Below Deck Adventure
As the Chief Stew duringBelow Deck Adventureseason 1, Faye Clarke was a quirky and unpredictable choice. Her background was as bizarre as her leadership, between being a Muay Thai fighter, a Southeast Asia hitchhiker, and a corporate go-getter in Dubai. That same unpredictability made her a magnet for drama onBelow Deck Adventure, but she should still come back for another season.
While Faye struggled to delegate, her intentions were always rooted in guest satisfaction. Her clashes with Chef Jessica Condy were some of the most memorable moments of the season, and while their feud tested her patience, she still rose above it. It’s unclear whether Faye would return to the franchise after welcoming a daughter in 2023, but maybe she’d want to continue the yachting life in theBelow Deckfranchise here and there while balancing motherhood with her career.
Below Deck Down Underairs on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams the next day on Peacock.
