Image Comics recently took to Xto announce that their upcomingTransformers#25,set for release in October 2025, will see writer Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Invincible) and artist Dan Mora (Batman / Superman: World’s Finest, Justice League Unlimited) take the helm of this fan-favorite, Eisner Award-winning comic.

With Daniel Warren Johnson and Jorge Corona’slegendary work onTransformerscoming to an end, Image Comics is ushering in a new era for the Energon Universe, and that era begins with Kirkman and Mora this October. While the debut is still months away,Image Comics hasn’t left fans empty-handed, offering an early sneak peekat what’s to come.
Alongside the creative team announcement, Image Comics also revealed four stunning variant covers for the upcoming issue, created by artists Jae Lee, David Nakayama, Daniel Warren Johnson, and Kael Ngu. In addition to these badass covers,Image shared three text-less preview pages from the issue,putting Mora’s jaw-dropping art on full display.
Though the pages contain no dialogue, Mora’s visuals already tell an emotionally resonant story. Optimus Prime is shown standing amid destruction, while reconstruction efforts are underway. In one powerful moment,he spots a small child in the rubble and extends a hand to help her cross.Optimus then joins Arceein clearing debris before the two are called away.
