Rumors have been spreading online that the upcomingAEW: Fight Forevervideo game will be a day one Xbox Game Pass release, and now the game’s official Twitter account has addressed those claims. While it still has no release date at the time of this writing,AEW: Fight Foreveris still expected to release at some point before the year is out, though there are some big roadblocks the game has to overcome first.
The biggest roadblockAEW: Fight Foreverhas to deal with the real-life backstage altercation that took place between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and various AEW officials.CM Punk is the cover star ofAEW: Fight Forever, and one has to imagine that he was going to be featured prominently in the game. However, it now looks like CM Punk will be leaving AEW, and if that is the case, it’s unclear if he will still appear in the video game or not.

It’s unclear how AEW will deal with CM Punk’s likeness inAEW: Fight Forever, or if thebackstage altercation during the All Out media scrumwill cause any kind of release date delay for the game. Those who are anxious to playAEW: Fight Forevershould note that they will most likely have to pay full retail price to do so, as AEW has denied the rumors that the game is going to be a day one Xbox Game Pass release. On Twitter, the official AEW Games account said that it doesn’t “anticipate"AEW: Fight Forever"being part of any mothly gaming subscription services.”
With 2022 nearly at an end, the most obvious explanation is that theAEW: Fight Foreverrelease datewill be announced at Full Gear. Assuming the game is still hoping to release in 2022, one would imagine that it would launch at some point next month, but that’s just speculation at this time. Again, fans will have to tune in to Full Gear on November 19 to see what exactlyAEW: Fight Foreverhas in store.
