Players will get access to a new way of purchasing pulls for banners starting inHonkai: Star Rail3.3, according to leaks, and it may never be the same again for a specific group of customers.HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG is currently at the start of Version 3.2. The current patch is a huge one since it is significantly expanding the world of Amphoreuswith new Trailblaze Missions and areas to explore, as well as the arrival of Castorice and Anaxa as playable characters. The release ofCastorice and Anaxa inHonkai: Star Railwill be split into different banner periods.

Castorice is being featured in Phase 1 banners, while Anaxa debuts in Phase 2. Beyond the Amphoreus-related content,Version 3.2 also overlaps with the game’s second anniversary, and HoYoverse has prepared a series of celebration events for the period. There are several giveaway events and activities that offer players free Stellar Jade and Star Rail Special Passes, as well as a freeLuocha or Ruan Mei inHonkai: Star Rail3.2. Even though there is still a lot to go through, some attention is already shifting toward Version 3.3, thanks to the upcoming patch’s beta tests.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Leaks Indicate New Way Of Purchasing Star Rail Special Passes

Players May No Longer Need TO Buy Oneiric Shards

So far, there have been several leaks about Version 3.3, though the majority of them revolve around the two new playable characters, Hyacine and Cipher. Even so, some other leaks are putting their attention toward updates. According to information provided by the leaker known as Dim, for example,Version 3.3 will add a new feature to the gacha system that will allow players to purchase Star Rail Passes and Star Rail Special Passes directly, without purchasing Oneiric Shardsand transforming them intoStellar Jade inHonkai: Star Rail. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” onReddit.

Effectively, the new purchase system should be more practical, as it cuts down the need to convert Shards into Stellar Jade and then use Stellar Jade to buy the Passes. The introduction of the new leaked purchase system for banner pulls may be a result of a new change to laws in the European Union, as indicated by the post. Although the system may help cut down the process of adapting resources until you ultimately get to the Passes you use to pull for characters inbanners inHonkai: Star Rail3.3and onward, it may not be worth it.

Leaked Prices For Direct Pulls In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Compared To Oneiric Shard Prices

The Price Per Pull Changes Based On Each Product

Another important part featured in the leak is the price of Passes when purchased directly and the comparison to the Oneiric Shard bundles. According to the leak, the price of an individual direct Pass will be $2.59, while 10 pulls from Passes purchased directly will be priced at $21.99. This price may be worth it depending on what type of Oneiric Shard bundle you would comparatively purchase and if it’s your first time – when purchasing each of these bundles for the first time, you get a Recharge bonus that doubles the amount of Oneiric Shards you obtain.

The table below lists all the pull prices reported by Dim, divided per bundle category inHonkai: Star Rail:

In addition to the prices per pull from the Passes and Oneiric Shard bundles, the leaker also includes calculations showing how much a pull costs within the Express Pass subscription system and the different tiers of the battle pass system. Furthermore, the calculations shown by the leaker include how much a pull costs when purchased from a Oneiric Shard bundle with a first-time Top-Up bonus, providing a better sense of which bundles are worth it when compared directly to the Star Rail Pass purchasesthat have been leaked forHonkai: Star Rail3.3.

Buying Individual Pulls In Honkai: Star Rail May Be Worth It - To A Limit

Players Will Have To Evaluate How Much Each Of Their Pulls Will Cost

Not all direct Star Rail Pass purchases will be a better choice than Oneiric Shard bundles. With the 60 Shards bundle, each pull will cost $2.64, compared to the individual Pass’s reported cost of $2.59, for example. Furthermore,a 60-Shard bundle doesn’t even allow you to buy a full Star Rail Special Pass unless you already have some leftover Stellar Jade to combine with it. As such, comparing prices alone, the 60-Shard bundle is only worth it if you buy it for the first time, but even so, you’ll still be unable to purchase a Star Rail Pass with it.

Every 1 Oneiric Shard translates to 1 Stellar Jade, and eachStar Rail Special Pass inHonkai: Star Rail(and ordinary Pass) costs 160 Stellar Jade.

Based on the price per pull, Oneiric Shard bundles are better options than direct Star Rail Pass purchases, starting with the 300-Shard bundle. The 300-Shard bundle, when purchased after the first Top-Up bonus has been gifted, will be less worth it because buying 10 Star Rail Passes directly brings the cost per pull to $2.19, compared to $2.42 from the bundle. All the other Oneiric Shard bundles, however, are more cost-effective than buying pulls directly, even when compared to the rumored 10-pull bundle.

The calculation also shows that, for character banner purposes, the battle pass tiers aren’t really worth the investment, as each pull will have a high cost – though it’s worth noting that thebattle pass inHonkai: Star Railhas other benefits, such as exclusive cosmetics and materials. Despite the rumored new Pass purchase system offering a practical way of pulling for characters in banners, players should compare their prices with what is offered by Oneiric Shard bundles, as it may be worth investing a bit more into Shards and getting more, yet cheaper pulls inHonkai: Star Rail.
