WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for Wednesday season 2, part 1!Evie Templeton’s Agnes DeMille serves as one of the biggest new character additions inWednesdayseason 2, with her role highlighting a facet of the originalAddams Familyadaptations that Netflix’s series has been missing. Agnes is introduced as an obsessive fan of Wednesday Addams, who turns out to be one ofNevermore’s invisible Outcastsand the mysterious stalker fromWednesdayseason 1’s ending.

Agnes ends up playing a surprisingly big role inWednesdayseason 2’s story, undeniably becoming the creepiest, most unnerving new teen at Nevermore. However, as frightening and offputting as she may be compared to the majority ofWednesdayseason 2’s other characters, there’s a strange familiarity and naturalness to Agnes. Ultimately, she feels more at home in theAddams Familyworld than most ofWednesday’s Outcasts.

Agnes Is The Exact Type Of Kooky Addams Family Character That Wednesday Has Been Missing

Agnes Feels Like A Natural Character In The Addams Family World

As is reiterated inThe Addams Family’s iconic 1960s sitcom theme song, a core facet of the Addams family is being “creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky, and altogether ooky.” While most ofWednesday’s Addams family memberscertainly embody those qualities, they’ve rarely applied to the other Outcasts introduced in Netflix’s series. That is, until Agnes arrived in season 2.

Agnes’ creepiness and spooky strangeness are the epitome of what theAddams Familyfranchise’s supernatural world was meant to entail.Wednesdaymade the Addamses outcasts among Outcasts for their distinctive macabre, spooky qualities, but the original iterations of the characters made it seem as though their extended supernatural world should be more reflective of their oddities.

That was certainly the case in the1991The Addams Familymoviewhen Gomez and Morticia hosted a party full of their friends and family, all of whom expanded on the eccentric nature of their society. InWednesday, Agnes feels like one of the few non-Addams family members who represent the spirit of the franchise’s kooky world.

Wednesday Season 3 Needs To Introduce More Characters Like Agnes

Lady Gaga’s Rosaline Rotwood Can Continue This Trend

It’s unclear how many more Outcasts will be introduced afterWednesdayseason 2, part 1’s ending. We know that Lady Gaga’s mysterious Rosaline Rotwood will appear in part 2, and her real-life stage persona and character details of being an enigmatic, legendary Nevermore teacher make it seem as if her character could be as kooky as the other Addamses.

WithWednesdayseason 3 already confirmed by Netflix, the series has plenty of opportunities to expand the Outcast world with more spooky characters like Agnes and, potentially,Rosaline Rotwood. The more weird Outcasts thatWednesdayintroduces, the more the series will feel true to the most nostalgicAddams Familyadaptations.
