Battlefield 6is right around the corner with its October 30 release date, and excitement is sure to start building even more once itsopen beta weekendsbegin. Despite being months away, though,Battlefield 6is already up for purchase online, and there are two editions available to those already opening their wallets – even thoughpre-ordering is ill-advisedby fans.
The long-running first-person shooter series has been in a bit of a rut.Battlefield 5was divisive at best, andBattlefield 2042is often held among the series' worst entries.BF6’s latestmultiplayer reveal has fans excited, though, and publisher Electronic Arts is already capitalizing on the hype by putting the game up for sale, as is tradition.Battlefield 6is going for the standard $70 price, but there is another edition availableto die-hard fans, and a bonus for anyone willing to pay before release.
Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition Vs. Standard Edition
On theEAwebsite, there are only two editions ofBattlefield 6available for purchase. First is the expected Standard Edition. Like practically every other video game purchase, buying the Standard Edition entitles you to the base game and nothing else(unless you pre-order it; more on that below).
The other option is theBattlefield 6Phantom Edition, which appears to be the game’s only premium version. This $99.99 edition is mostly a collection of in-game cosmetics, but also has a few bonuses relating to the game’s first battle pass. The cosmetics have virtually no bearing on gameplay, and the battle pass items only appear to give you a head start on that season’s track, which is included in the Phantom Edition purchase. Here’s a list of everything included in theBattlefield 6Phantom Edition:
As special offerings for the Phantom Edition, the above cosmetics will presumably not be earnable in-game. It’s unclear if the “exclusive rewards” for theBFPro Token refer to entirely separate unlocks, or if it’s simply highlighting the expected premium track.
Battlefield 6 Pre-Order Bonuses
Cosmetic Pack
Both the Standard and Phantom Editions have the same pre-order bonuses, attained by purchasing either prior toBattlefield 6’s launch. If you pre-orderBF6, you get the Tombstone Pack, which is primarily a cosmetic bundle. The following are everything included in the Tombstone Pack,Battlefield 6’s pre-order bonus:

Earlypreviews ofBattlefield 6are promising, but pre-orders are always a divisive topic among consumers. You’re paying for a product that hasn’t been reviewed or tested publicly, andBattlefieldis notorious for having rough launch windows due to bugs and server issues. Regardless, the pre-order bonuses are pretty enticing, and you get quite a few items for simply buying ahead of time. TheBattlefield 6Phantom Edition will likely come down even more to personal preference, though, since an extra $30 is a lot to ask.
