Not too long ago, it was revealed thatAnthemtopped the UK’s physical retail sales chartduring its first week of release. Now, it appears as if the BioWare action-RPG has been able to maintain its foothold in the position, with the game taking the Number 1 spot yet again, making it the second week in a row for the title.
According to GFK Chart-Track,Anthemhas fended off the competition of three new arrivals to the Top 10, with the closest beingThe Lego Movie 2 Videogamedebuting in the Number 4 slot. The other two fresh contenders the BioWare title faced were Codemasters’Dirt Rally 2.0and Ubisoft’sTrials Rising: Gold Edition, with the former spending its first week at Number 6, and the latter debuting at Number 10.
Right behindAnthemon the charts isFIFA 19at Number 2, andFar Cry: New Dawnat Number 3. The full Top 10 chart for the week can be found below.
Anthem’s sales success on the UK’s physical retail sales chart isn’t the only region in which the BioWare action-RPG has managed to scored big. As it so happens, the gamealmost sold out in Japanduring its debut week.
AmidAnthem’s prosperity on physical sales charts, though, are myriad player reports of the title’s poor performance across its supported platforms. One of, if not the most egregious errors occurring with the title involves thePS4 experiencing full system crasheswhen one tries to close the application.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see just how many digital iterations ofAnthemhave been sold thus far as well, and if it can pull off a three-peat in regards to its Number 1 spot on the UK’s physical retail sales chart. Should BioWare manage to clear out all of the most troublesome bugs while also maintaining a steady amount of enticing content via post-launch DLC, then there’s a chance it could have some solid sales figures well into the future.
Anthemis available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
