Anthony Michael Hall and Tim Burton have reunited for the first time in 35 years onWednesdayseason 2, with the actor’s role and fate being reminiscent of his 1990 movie character. Joining newcomers like Christopher Lloyd, Billie Piper, and Lady Gaga, Anthony Michael Hall was among the biggest names to joinWednesdayseason 2’s cast, and one of the few who previously worked with Burton.

However, Anthony Michael Hall ultimately only appears in one episode beforeWednesdayseason 2, part 1’s ending. The iconic ‘80s actorportrays Ron Kruger, a Phoenix Cadet Masterwhose troop booked Camp Jericho the same night asNevermore Academy’s Outcasts. While attempting to ambush the Outcasts and reclaim the camp, Kruger meets a brutal end by Slurp – reflecting Hall’s villainous demise in his last Burton project.

Hall Plays Ron Kruger In Wednesday Season 2

While Anthony Michael Hall rose to fame in the ‘80s for playing somewhat nerdy characters as a teen, he found a knack for more tough-guy, villainous roles in the ‘90s. One of the best early examples of that turn in his career wasin Tim Burton’sEdward Scissorhands, in which he played the antagonistic and arrogant teenager Jim, the boyfriend ofWinona Ryder’s Kim Boggs.

Jim is still one of Anthony Michael Hall’s most villainous roles, so it should have been expected that his reunion with Tim Burton would give him a similar dynamic. While not to the same extreme as in Burton’s masterpieceEdward Scissorhands, Hall plays a villain yet again inWednesdayseason 2, intent on stealing Camp Jericho from the Outcasts who won it in their capture the flag-like competition.

However, as many ofWednesday’s villain characters do, Hall’s Ron Kruger faces a gory demise after finding himself in Pugsley and Eugene’s tent. Little did he know, the two Outcast teens were harboring a zombie inside who was hungry for more brains. Anthony Michael Hall’s stint ends with one ofWednesdayseason 2’s most brutal deathsas he’s killed by Slurp, leaving Pugsley, Eugene, and Agnes to take care of the body.

Both Characters Are Killed By Outcasts

Not only is Anthony Michael Hall a villain in both of hisTim Burton-directed projects, but his characters also experience similar endings. InEdward ScissorhandsandWednesdayseason 2,Hall’s characters end their stories with tragic deaths.

The 1990 movie concludes after Hall’s Jim is killed and pushed out a window by Edward Scissorhands, who was trying to protect Kim after Jim attacked her. Meanwhile, Hall’s Ron Kruger has his brains eaten by a zombie while trying to attack Outcasts. Considering how similar the stories have been for Anthony Michael Hall’s characters so far, it’ll be exciting to see what his next Tim Burton role will entail.
