Without a doubt,Mortal Kombat 11is one of themost anticipated titles of 2019, but another title that has already taken 2019 by storm isApex Legends. It’s not an exaggeration to say that the game has exploded and is currently on track to outpaceFortnitein several milestones, with a lot of this having to do with the unique characters that it brings to the table. One of those characters is Wraith, and a fan has recreated one of her finishers to look like aMortal Kombatfatality.
For those not in the know, Wraith is one of the most popular legends whose abilities allow players to strike quickly and move quicker. She is also the only character to currently have heirloom items and is considered one of the best legends to main. To see one of her finishers turned into a fatality is certainly fitting, as she first headbutts her opponent, then teleports behind them and elbows them in the back, and finally teleports above to stomp on their head. It certainly sounds like a fatality fromMortal Kombat, and Redditor Nestoraus has updated the animation to reflect that quality.
At each strike, it shows the damage done to the opponent and even ends with a bloody FATALITY appearing across the screen. This also caught the attention of user Respawn senior animator Moy Parra. Parra went on to comment that this is the first finisher animation he did forApex Legendsand that seeing it mixed with a fatality blew his mind.
This animated crossover ofApex LegendsandMortal Kombat, if nothing else, speaks to the creativity of the two communities as well as the popularity of the two games. Notably, each has also experienced a few character leaks, with thefull roster forMortal Kombat 11leaking and the character Octane leaking forApex Legends.
According to said leak, new character Octaneis supposed to have a Swift Mend passive, Adrenaline Junkie tactical, and Launch Pad ultimate ability, perhaps making him another quick hitter inApex Legends. If he proves to be as popular as Wraith, perhaps he (or even another legend) will get their own fatality one day, though we wouldn’t exactly hold our breath.
Apex Legendsis out now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
