One of the ways thefree-to-play battle royale gameApex Legendshas been able to stand out when compared to other battle royale games on the market is thanks to it use of hero-shooter elements, drawing some parallels to Blizzard’sOverwatch. Respawn apparently anticipated these comparisons, as it has included a nod toOverwatchinApex Legends.

If players go to Pathfinder’s customization options (Pathfinder is the robot, for those who have yet to learn everyone’s name), and then head to the Pose section under Banners, they can find a Pose called For the Birds. In this Pose, Pathfinder is attacked by a bird, possibly Bloodhound’s bird, in what appears to be a nod toOverwatch’s robotic Bastion character and his benevolent relationship with nature.Click hereto see Pathfinder attacked.

Overwatchhas often highlighted Bastion’s connection to nature, despite his origins as a machine. Bastion has a yellow bird that can be seen in his animated short and in some of his victory poses and the like, showing that his connection to nature may even be stronger than some of the human characters in the game. The contrast of Pathfinder being attacked by a bird matches his goofier personality.

TheOverwatcheaster egg isn’t the only one that’s been found inApex Legendsso far. Players have also found a dog plushie that was put in the game as atribute to one of the developer’s pets, who passed away while he was working onApex Legends.

It’s possible that even more easter eggs are hidden around theApex Legendsmap, considering its size and the fact that players rarely have time to just stop and look around. After all, they have the constant threat of the storm closing in on them to worry about, not to mention 57 enemy players that are actively trying to kill them. However, it’s possible some players will stumble upon more easter eggs on their travels, and it will be interesting to see if more are added to the game in future updates.

ApexLegendsis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
