TheSupermanmovie has finally landed a digital release date as James Gunn confirms it in a newDC Universeupdate.The Man of Steel made a triumphant return to the big screen in 2025with theSupermanmovie from Gunn, starring David Corenswet as the titular hero for the DCU franchise.
Gunn’sSupermanmovie has officially become the highest-grossingSupermanfilm in the U.S.,as the DCU installment has collected $331.3 million domestically. Internationally, Superman has grossed $247.8 million, with its worldwide box office sitting at $579.1 million in total.
As of June 14, 2025,Supermanhas been in theaters for over a month, andGunnhas now confirmed on X that the DCU release will be available on VOD starting on Friday, August 15. Check out his full announcement below:
According to Warner Bros. Discovery,Supermanwill be available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD from online and physical retailers as of September 23. The release ofSupermanon digital will come 35 days after its theatrical run began. Participating digital retailers will also continue to sellSupermanthrough high definition and standard definition.
