In a hardcore transformation,Batmanis showcasing a jaw-dropping redesign that basically turns him into Gotham’s very first Power Ranger. And not only is Bruce Wayne’s new suit a visual upgrade - it seems to be giving Batman new powers, including increased strength and agility.
The new suit is a sleek armored design with a full, face-covering helm. Combining gray, black and blue with yellow detailing, the suit also incorporates small bursts of purple, recreating the gloves Batman wore in his first ever comic costume. Powered by an alternate dimension of living darkness, the suit also seems set to enhance the Dark Knight’s physiology to superhuman levels.
The new suit was designed by Dan Mora, and will be showcased inImmortal Legend Batman #1by Kyle Higgins, Mat Groom, Erica D’Urso, Igor Monti and Becca Carey. This alt-universe story will see Batman clash with new versions of Riddler and a group of gladiatorial space pirates. Thankfully,Nightwing and Robin will be by his sidein their own powered suits.

Immortal Legend Batmantakes place in a reality where humanity has tapped into a dimension of supernatural darkness, using it to create new forms of technology. When that dimension turns out to be an aggressive threat to Earth, Batman, Nightwing and Robin don suits powered by the darkness, battling the monsters that threaten their home, as seen in the preview below.
The preview shows Batman surrounded by bat-like energy bursts as he charges through a cave-in, suggesting that the new power source will increase his physical strength when needed. Cover art also shows a new version of Riddler and space pirates with Bane-like marks on their faces, suggesting Gotham’s villains will be getting their own redesigns. The cover for issue 2 alsoshows a robot marked ‘PENNYWORTH’, suggesting Batman’s butler Alfred Pennyworth is getting his own upgrade.
The series' writer Kyle Higgins has worked on bothMighty Morphin Power RangersandRadiant Black, suggesting that the similarity of the design to Japanese tokusatsu is no coincidence, so fans can expect the same ultra-stylistic fighting and visual excess in this upcoming comic.
