There are quite a few new leaks aboutCall of Duty: Black Ops 7out in the wild now, thanks to Xbox, and they shed some light on some of the new multiplayer modes fans can expect in this year’s entry.Black Ops 7was revealed at the end of the Xbox Game Showcase, and fans caught a glimpse ofreturning fan-favoriteBlack Ops 2star, David Mason, in the leading role for the game’s campaign. The game will take place in 2025, feature co-op for the campaign, and will see the return of Zombies once again. But until this leak, not much was known about the PvP multiplayer.
In a Reddit thread, userPK-Ricochetlinked to an X post that has been taken down, butreveals several screenshots and new information aboutBlack Ops 7’s multiplayer offerings. The images were accidentally released through the XboxCall of Dutyapp as an internal developer message of the day.
Everything We Learned From The Black Ops 7 Leak
At Least Two New Modes And A Lot Of Futuristic Tech
The reveal trailer for the game barely showed any gameplay and was centered more on narrative and set up. MoreBlack Ops 7detailsslowly emerged as an individual who attended a “study group” for the game back in April leaked the2035 setting, co-op feature, and some of the story’s locations: Japan and the fictional city of Avalon (not to be confused with the real-life Avalon town on Catalina Island in California), and the developers confirmed those leaks after the official reveal. Now, we’re getting a look at some of the multiplayer modes.
Black Ops 7will allegedly have at leasttwo new modes: Overload and 20v20 Skirmish. Overload is described as a 6v6 mode in which teams fight to control a neutral EMP device that must be delivered to the enemy HQ to score points. Skirmish is a large-scale battle between two teams of 20 players, in which teams complete varying objectives, like capturing points, destroying payloads, and transmitting data. Skirmish will also feature “wingsuits,” which look like jetpacks in the leaked images. It’s currently unknown whether the wingsuits will be available in other game modes.
This Leak Is As Reliable As They Get
Directly From Xbox
While leaks should almost always be given their due skepticism (and this one should also be treated similarly until official confirmations and details are revealed),it would be surprising if this leak isn’t accurate. The images came directly from theCall of Dutyapp on Xbox, and the images and game descriptions clearly referenceBlack Ops 7and not another game orWarzone. It is interesting, though, that co-developers Treyarch and Raven Software previously stated the game would not have wallrunning or jetpacks, and the Skirmish leak appears to be contradictory.
It remains to be seen how these leaked “wingsuits” will actually work, and withBlack Ops 7going back to the future, these leaks will likely divide and excite fans in equal parts. Nothing has been officially confirmed, of course, but these leaks are looking likely, and if they are true, the multiplayer might be getting the biggest shake-upCall of Dutyhas had in a long while. Hopefully, more information is released soon, asCall of Duty: Black Ops 7is due for release sometime later this year.
