Brad Pitt is one of the most successful actors currently working in Hollywood, with a massive number of extremely well-liked projects under his belt. However, one of his most interesting upcoming movies isHeart of the Beast, which will see Pitt reunited with someone he hasn’t directly worked with in over 11 years.
Recently, the actor found success withthe well-reviewed racing movieF1and has become a decent hit at the box office despite some heavy competition. A few of his more recent movies haven’t done all that well, butthe actor is still a big draw who can clearly bring in audiences.
This New Film Marks Their First Collaboration Since 2014
Heart of the Beastis an upcoming action/adventure filmthat centers around a Navy SEAL, played by Pitt, who gets lost in the Alaskan wilderness and has to find his way back to civilization, accompanied only by his retired combat dog.
The film is beingdirected by David Ayer, who is most notable for the plethora of action films he has created, includingTraining Day,The Fast and the Furious, 2016’sSuicide Squad, and a couple of recent Jason Statham projects, such asThe BeekeeperandA Working Man.
Ayer was also behind the writing ofFury, whileHeart of the Beastis being written by Cameron Alexander, who doesn’t have too many credits to his name yet.
Most notably forHeart of the Beast, however,Ayer also directedFury, a war movie that starred Pitt as the commander of an American tank fighting in Nazi Germany during World War II.That movie was a pretty solid hit, earning good reviews and making over $200 million at the box office on a budget of around $80 million.
Since this isPitt and Ayer’s first collaboration sinceFury,the hope is that the duo will be able to make something that manages to be on parwith that movie. Ayer was also behind the writing ofFury, whileHeart of the Beastis being written by Cameron Alexander, who doesn’t have too many credits to his name yet.

Heart of the Beast’s cast has expanded since the initial announcement, with names like J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe attached. However,there is still very little known about the project aside from the initial logline,which was revealed alongside the movie’s announcement.

While Ayer has had some misses throughout his career, his recent work with Statham has been pretty solid. With Pitt’s continued line of great work,Heart of the Beastcould be a movie that can take advantage of the strengths of its main actor and director and become another big success for the pair.
