Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers have discovered an odd bug on the St. Petrograd multiplayer level, where attacking a spinning chair on the map can result in one’s untimely demise.

Two videos posted on theModern Warfaresubreddit last week show the unusual issue in action. After jumping on top of the chairs behind the level’s reception desk, a player in the first post swings a knife at one of the spinning seats and dies, with the game’s kill feed counting the incident as a suicide. The issue was independently confirmed by other Reddit users, who retroactively identified the glitch as the cause of mysterious deaths on the map.

The problem with the chairs at St. Petrograd inModern Warfarealso happens if one uses the game’s other melee attack options, as seen in the second video. Fans likened the issue to another piece of deadly décor in the game, citing similar incidents with a mirror in the barber shop on the Favela map. In a game where something as simple asbumping into other players can be fatal, the environments should be the least of players' worries, but one ridiculous problem could spell the end of all kinds of killstreaks if players aren’t cautious.

The bug isn’t the only time players have foundproblems with the latestCall of Duty’smultiplayer modes, but it might be the silliest, with the root of the issue likely being withModern Warfare’s collision detection for the infamous spinning chairs. Developer Infinity Ward has not commented publicly on the bug, but fans can likely expect the fiendish furniture to get benched with an upcoming patch.

Some of the more serious issues present inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehave includedpoor respawn locationsand divisive reception to the game’s skill-based matchmaking system, as well as problems with player behavior like pervasive camping. Infinity Ward has committed itself to fixing most of the shooter’s troubles in an effort to keep its strong initial momentum going, but most of them run deeper than a pair of chairs.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
