Today, publisher Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games officially announced that theMission: ImpossibleandPulp Fictionactor Ving Rhames is set to star in the lead role forCall of Duty: WW2’sZombies modeas the character Jefferson Potts. However, beyond the reveal of Rhames' inclusion in the cast and his character’s name, the creators of the forthcoming first-person shooter did not divulge any further information regarding his role.
As seen in the tweet below, Activision and Sledgehammer Games announced Ving Rhames' inclusion inCall of Duty: WW2’s Zombies alongside the countdown of there being just one more day left until the publisher and developer takes the stage at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 to formally unveil the game mode to the masses. The event will be the first sanctioned release of footage forWW2’s Zombies, for over the weekend, agameplay trailer leakedand potentially outed the mode’s name as “Army of the Dead.”
WithCall of Duty: WW2’s Zombies set to be shown off to the world tomorrow, it’s a safe bet to make that Ving Rhames will be the last cast member announced for the mode, as Activision and Sledgehammer Games have already confirmed a slew of other actors to be featured in the story. For instance, the likes ofDavid Tennant, Elodie Yung, Katheryn Winnick, and Udo Kier have each been revealed to have a role in the mode.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see what kinds of characters Rhames and the rest of the cast play and how they will exist within the narrative framework ofCall of Duty: WW2’s Army of the Dead. On an even greater scale, most fans are likely more intrigued to learn how the plot itself will operate through Sledgehammer Games' purportedlyhistorically accuratevision for the forthcoming first-person shooter as a whole, especially since its depiction of the era is to be rooted in realism, but will contain a mode involving the living dead.
Call of Duty: WW2is set to release on June 26, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
