Resident Evil 8hasn’t been revealed with any great substance yet, but leaks such as those regardingthe game’s plot pointshave been repeatedly trickling down. Further, an additional rumor indicates that longtimeResident Evilprotagonist Chris Redfield will be sporting a different appearance in the next numbered installment in the franchise.
As often happens on the social media platform, Twitter user AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem posted a series of leaks regardingResident Evil 8. The game’s existence has been indicated multiple times, including ademo forResident EvilAmbassadorsthat demonstrated a tentative redesign for Chris Redfield. One of the most important leaks was a response to an inquisitive Twitter user who asked if Chris Redfield’s supposed new look was true.

In the response, AestheticGamer gave a staunch affirmative. The question from Twitter user Kylloween was prompted by an initial tweet from AestheticGamer in which they expressed excitement forResident Evil 8. He had done so after stating that there may be a closeby reveal of a newSilent Hillgame.
A redesign of Chris Redfield wouldn’t be totally outside the realm of possibility at this point. This has nothing to do with the quality of hisResident Evil 7redesign, but rather,he may well be the antagonist ofResident Evil 8.As such, getting a redesign would allow Capcom the opportunity to make Chris Redfield appear more villainous than he did at the end ofResident Evil 7. The rumor that Chris Redfield will be a villain is backed by another claim by AestheticGamer thatResident Evil 8will supposedly feature multiple villains, which allow greater capacity of Chris Redfield to even be a villain.
The game is currently rumored to be titledRE: Villageand may be coming out in early 2021. However, there may be a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which could push further into 2021 or later. The crisis has also affected a number of other game developers and has caused events, such as the annual E3, to be canceled over its danger. If this be the case, then hopefullyResident Evil 8’s development, and game development in general, can resume as normal.
