A few months afterPortalcame out, the internet was suddenly choking under the weight of Companion Cube plushies and cakes and every craft related to the game you’re able to possible imagine. We posted a lot of them, but after a while we just had to let them pass us by — enough was enough.
Of course, it’s been a few while since all that went down, and so seeing a newPortalthemed craft — especially a really, really good one like this — is noteworthy again. A Live Journal user by the name ofJames Whitecreated this pitch perfect Companion Cube out of wood, which swings open to reveal the fabled cake. I don’t think this will necessarily fire up the Portal craft army again, but it’s nice to see someone do game crafts with such inspiration and precision.
