Warning! Vague Cyberpunk 2077 spoilers revealing the premise of a late-game side quest ahead. No software is completely free of problems, least of all highly ambitious open-world games in the vein of CD Projekt Red’s dystopian RPG. And while the 2020 title had an infamously troubled launch that was plagued by severe technical issues extending well beyond minor bugs, CDPR eventually managed to right the ship byspending over $125 million on fixingCyberpunk 2077over the last three years.

Even so, some smaller problems still persist to this date. Reddit user Woocash91 can attest to that fact, having recently come across an odd bug that made Rogue drive them to the very edge of the map, into the North Badlands beyond Watson. The issue was encountered near the beginning of theCyberpunk 2077Chippin' In side job, a late-game quest that normally involves Rogue driving V to the waterfront in central Watson.

Much to Woocash91’s surprise, Rogue did not manage to complete the intended ride after reaching the target destination. Instead, the game teleported the duo back on the road just as she was about to pull over, which simply made her keep driving without saying a word. The player described the experience as “the trip of my life,” substantiating that remark with a brief gameplay clip of Rogue staring unsettlingly at V as the duo sat in her Quadra Type-66 “Mistral” in complete silence in the middle of nowhere.

We got teleported back on the road when she was about to stop in [sic] the docks, then the trip of my life started.

Woocash91 explained that they were unable to leave the vehicle even after Rogue finally stopped the car in Northern Badlands, forcing them to reload the game in order to continue. Several fans chiming in on this terrifying ride said they experienced the same issue with the Chippin' In quest. Since all of those accounts indicated that reloading a previous save eliminates the problem, it would appear that thisCyberpunk 2077bug is caused by some specific world state that can only get triggered after V and Rogue embark on their ride at the Afterlife.

Skipping Rides Can Avoid This Sort of Scripting Bugs in Cyberpunk 2077

Players worried about scripting bugs of this sort can usually avoid them by simply skipping scripted rides inCyberpunk 2077. Doing so is as simple as holding the cancel command, which defaults to C on a keyboard, B on Xbox, and the circle button on PlayStation. Given howCDPR continues to push out majorCyberpunk 2077updatesthree years into its release, there’s still a chance that the developer will address this odd bug in a future patch.
