The trailer forDeliver Me from Nowherehas arrived. The upcomingmusic biopicwill follow iconic New Jersey rock star Bruce Springsteen (Jeremy Allen White) during the time when he was writing and recording his sixth album, 1982’sNebraska. The movie, which was directed byCrazy Heart’s Scott Cooper, also stars Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father Douglas, Gaby Hoffmann as his mother Adele, Marc Maron as his producer Chuck Plotkin, Jeremy Strong as his manager Jon Landau, Odessa Young as his love interest Faye, Paul Walter Hauser as recording engineer Mike Batlan, and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive Al Teller.

The trailer opens with Springsteen buying his first new car, enjoying the fruits of his success but finding himself struggling to figure out who he really is. The trailer then features a monologue about the artist “repairing that hole in himself” as it cuts between Bruce coping with the pain of his childhood and working during the lo-fi sessions that would produceNebraska. The Movie Isn’t Entirely About Nebraska
In addition to offering the first close look at footage from theanticipated 2025 movie, theDeliver Me from Nowheretrailer offers some insight into how the movie is going to operate. While the main thrust of the story is limited to a specific timeframe, the trailer makes it clear thatthe movie will not be bound exclusively to the timeline of the production ofNebraska, moving backward in time for flashbacks. The inclusion of “Born to Run” also highlights the fact that popular early Springsteen tracks that aren’t on that album will also be featured.

The trailer also showcases the ways that theJeremy Allen White moviewill bring Springsteen to life. While theShamelessandThe Bearstar doesn’t necessarily disappear into the role visually,he does perform his own vocals in the movie, which are showcased both during the clips from theNebraskasessions and in the onstage “Born to Run” performance. In an interview last year, Springsteen spoke about the movie, as he was actively involved with the process. The rockstar has praised White as “a terrific actor,” who can sing “very well.” He also said the following:

While Jeremy Allen White’s look inDeliver Me from Nowhereis not necessarily a perfect mimicry of Bruce Springsteen during that time period, it is the vocals that really matter. As underscored by dialogue during the trailer,the point ofNebraskawas to be raw and unpolished, so transforming the star into a perfect doppelgänger does not fit the mood behind the album. What matters most is the raw, emotional sound, the moments in Springsteen’s life that inspired that sound, and his live-wire onstage persona, and all of those elements seem to be captured well here.
