WhileDestiny 2fans continuetheir lament of the Eververse, Bungie’s team has begun to make their way back to the studio after a long holiday stretch to work on the road ahead for the science fiction shooter. As it so happens, the developer’s Community Manager, David “DeeJ” Dague, even went so far as to offer a brief studio update about the game so that Guardians would be aware that Bungie has returned from its break.

As seen in the tweet below from theDestiny 2Community Manager, Dague wishes fans a Happy New Year, and explains that he is back at Bungie to look over the contents of Hotfix 1.1.1.2 that will be applied later today. He also confirms that the studio will be “restoring game rituals like Iron Banner and Faction Rallies to working order for all.” As far as the live calendar is concerned, though, Bungie will bring updates for that next week.

Although someDestiny 2fans might simply be content to learn that Bungie’s back in the studio, others are surely still champing at the bit to hear a much fuller response from the company following a previous tweet from Dague that read,“We have a lot to talk about in 2018.“Of course, Bungie is likely tightening up its first official blog post forDestiny 2’s player base at this very moment with language designed to avoid creating another fracas on par with the game’s microtransaction controversy.

With last year’s roll out ofDestiny 2in the rear view mirror, most fans of the game are now hoping that Bungie will at the very least use 2018 as a way to own up to some of the mistakes that were made in regards to microtransactions, dissatisfying endgame content, and being too opaque with players. That said, though, these and other problems might not stem completely from Bungie, as it was recently revealed by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier that Eververseoriginally served as a content stopgap, but due to pressure from Activision, it became the behemoth it is today.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
