Destiny 2’s current Season of Opulence revolves aroundthe Chalice of Opulence, an item that gives players more control than ever over what weapons and armor they want from the new 6-player matchmade Menagerie mode. Players can guarantee which loot they get as long as they have the right combination of Runes slotted into the Chalice.
It didn’t takeDestiny 2fans very long to figure out exactly which Rune combinations will result in each piece of gear. And they shared that information on theDestinysubreddit in some extremely helpful grids and spreadsheets.
To earn these rewards, players must unlock the Chalice’s Rune slots byearning Imperials. Then, players can earn various Runes that can be put into each slot. And every combination will give a different piece of gear and influence what kind of stats that loot has. Once players complete the Menagerie and reach the final chest, the rewards from that chest are entirely determined by which Runes are slotted into the Chalice.
As players have discovered, the Chalice works like this: The first Rune slot determines what class of gear the final chest inthe new Menagerie activitywill reward, be it a sniper rifle, submachine gun, helmet, chest piece, etc. The second Rune slot specifies which reward is granted, such as the Beloved sniper rifle versus the Twilight Oath. On armor, the second Rune determines if the armor will have Recovery, Mobility, or Resilience. Lastly, the third Rune lets players choose the Masterwork stat on their weapons or the type of element resist on armor.
