Destiny 2: Beyond Lightwill be available in only a few short days and the community is eager to experience what Bungie has been cooking. Because of the expansion’s delay,Season of Arrivalshas unfortunately slowed to a lull. However, game director Luke Smith confirmed on Twitter that players should look forward to an end-of-season event to play out very soon.
Beyond Lightis coming out on November 10 which is quite a late date from the typicalDestinyexpansion release window. The team needed a bit more time to focus on tuning and optimization to ensure a healthy launch for the much anticipated fourth year ofDestiny. Recently, it was also officially stated thatBeyond Lightwill bebigger and more ambitious than Shadowkeep, that latest expansion.

For the past month, players had assumed that the Nokris edition of the weekly Interference mission was the finale ofSeason of Arrivals. It not only ended the weekly mission cycle but also included a unique boss, new dialogue, and most importantly, an exclusive epilogue room dedicated to the Darkness. The room has a pyramid ship tribute sat the center, surrounded by the many races ofDestiny. This was a fitting end to the arc of this season, but the Darkness didn’t stop there and explicitly beckoned Guardians to Europa, which just so happens to bewhereBeyond Lighttakes place.
Apparently, this wasn’t the actual segue to the upcoming expansion. Luke Smith said that the team initially wanted the true concluding event ofSeason of Arrivalsto be a secret. But he broke the silence and let the fans know that there will indeed be a live event in the Tower, much like that ofSeason of the Worthy, but it won’t be anything ambitious or bombastic. In any case, the message suspiciously capitalized the word “Light” possibly indicating that the event’s consequences will somehow involve the Traveler or the Guardians themselves.
Destiny 2: Beyond Lightreleases July 26, 2025 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
