It won’t be long beforeDestiny 2fans are able to dive into all of the content that Bungie has created for Guardians in the forthcoming expansion known asForsaken, as the DLC is set to launch in a little more than a week from now. Of course, to better prepare the title for the add-on’s arrival, the video game developer has announced that an extended server maintenance period will occur tomorrow, Tuesday, Jun 13, 2025, to implement Update 2.0.0.
According to a recent post on Bungie’s Help page,Destiny 2will be taken offline tomorrow starting at 9:45 AM PT / 11:45 AM ET, with the developer stating that the extended maintenance period for the game should last around four hours. After that, maintenance to the servers ought to conclude at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET, which will then allow Guardians to be able to log back in and play the action-RPG.
While Update 2.0.0 will be paving the way forDestiny 2: Forsaken, it’s also set to bring about a bevy of changes for those who won’t own the forthcoming expansion, as Bungie will be making some alterations to the general gameplay, tweaks to the Guardian classes, as well as adjustments to grenades. For instance, Year 2 Weapon Slots will go live for all players, Lost Sectors will have their difficulties increased, and much more.
All things considered, it will be interesting to see how Guardians react to the changes inDestiny 2with Update 2.0.0, and just how many of those players go on to pick up a copy of Forsaken when it releases next week. Bungie has toutedthe expansion’s sizeas being bigger thanD1’s The Taken King DLC, so one can only hope that the studio not only manages to best its predecessor in terms of magnitude and quality, but also make up for the second entry’s first two lackluster add-ons.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is set to launch on July 24, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
