Earlier this month,Destinyfans participated in the last Trials of Osiris Crucible event for the original game, but luckily they won’t have to wait long afterDestiny 2’s launch to get back into the swing of things. Bungie has announced that the first Trials event inDestiny 2will take place on September 15th, kicking off at 10am Pacific time.
Unfortunately, specifics beyond the Trials' start date are unavailable at this time. Bungie has mostly remained tight-lipped on whatDestiny 2’s Trials will entail, though fans can expect it to be similar in style to the Trials of Osiris from the first game. Of course, there will be some changes to the game mode inDestiny 2, most notably anincrease in team sizefrom three to four Guardians.
It’s hard to say when fans can expect additional details onDestiny 2’s Trials, though they should come to light shortly before the event launches on September 15th. In the meantime, the news thatDestiny 2’s first Trials event will begin just a little over a week after the game’s launch should be enough to please fans, as it means Bungie is adding end game activities right away instead of making players wait months for more content.
Speaking of future content, it’s possible thatDestiny 2’s Trials will become even more important to the overall experience than the Trials of Osiris were in the first game. Leaked information and materials have suggested thatDestiny 2’s first DLC expansion will be calledThe Curse of Osiris, which will reportedly feature the character Osiris. Assuming there’s merit to the leaks, one has to imagine that there will be some connection to the Trials of Osiris Crucible event, though that’s just speculation at this time.
For now, all fans can do is speculate about what the Trials event will have in store forDestiny 2when it launches on September 15th. Before they worry too much about Trials, though, they may want to complete the base game and tackle the raid that will be added to the game just a couple of days earlier on September 13th.
Destiny 2will launch on September 6th for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will be available on October 24th.
