With Season 8 only a few days away from coming to a close, Bungie has been preparing players for what to expect next week inDestiny 2when the Season of Dawn arrives. Through an exciting trailer as well as a brief livestream reveal, Bungie has shown of the return ofOsiris and his new Sundial activitywhich looks like a new take on the Menagerie. The biggest reveal is that the currently dead Titan legend, Saint-14, is going to have a major role as well. There are likely even more surprises in store once the new season kicks off, including the possible return of a long dormant game mode.
Since the launch ofDestiny 2, fans have been clamoring for any sort of news on SRL or the Sparrow Racing League. Bungie has continued to be mum on the subject, though thanks to therecently released seasonal calendar, the upcoming Dawning event may provide a major clue.

Sparrow League Racing was a short lived, yet very popular mode in the originalDestiny. It first made its appearance as part of the three week Dawning holiday event back in 2015 and then again the following year with refreshed tracks and new prizes. However, that appeared to be the end of the mode as it went on hiatus and has remained there ever since.
In addition to the possible return of SRL, the Content Calendar also makes it clear thatBungie isn’t adding a new Raid this season. While that may no doubt disappoint some players, the change in strategy makes sense considering the amount of work an activity like that requires. As an alternative, it appears that two new exotic quests for Bastion and Devil’s Ruin have been added instead, hinting at an alternating schedule for raids and exotic quests. While fans don’t yet know the extent of these quests, it could mean the return of specific exotic missions on par with standouts like Zero Hour or Whisper of the Worm.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
