Destiny 2finally has its first comic adaptation, as Bungie releases its eagerly-anticipatedFall of Osirisfor free online. In a similar fashion to theOverwatchonline comics, the short release can be accessed panel-by-panel to all fans, giving those interested a small look into theorigins of Osiris and Ikora.

TheFall of Osiriscomic tells the story of how Osiris began to be outcast for his views on the Traveller, an event which resulted in the Guardian angering the Speaker and becoming something of a prophet to the masses. As Osiris grew more obsessed with his research into the Vex, his neglect of his duties as Vanguard Commander led to the man eventually abandoning his post, along with his student, Ikora Rey. Destiny 2 Comic Explores Osiris and Ikora’s Origin Story - Cover

Since that point, Osiris has been protecting life from afar, attempting to stop the Vex Mind from attacking the Solar System. In the newly-releasedCurse of OsirisexpansionforDestiny 2, Osiris and the player’s Guardian work together to battle the Vex inside the Infinite Forest, picking up several years after where the comic left off.

This first look at aDestiny 2comic is rather promising, as it looks to be a great new way to deliver story content, something that the series desperately needs. AlthoughDestiny 2certainly provides more of a story experience than its predecessor, there are still large sections of the lore that players want to know more about.

ThoughCurse of Osirisdid offer a little bit more in the way of story, reception of the DLC has been primarily negative and players hoping to get some real value from their Season Passes have been, for the most part, left disappointed. What’s more, the expansion didn’t come close to fixing the numerous issues thatDestiny2fans have been asking Bungie to look at ever since the game launched, but insteadtook away content from playerswho didn’t purchase the DLC.

Destiny 2is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
