Devil May Cry 5already looks set to be a success when it releases this year, as it’s easily one ofthe most highly anticipated games of 2019due to its stylish gameplay, over-the-top aesthetics, and long-awaited returns of Dante and Nero–both of whom will be playable alongside the mysterious newcomer known as V. What’s more is that Trish and Lady will also be making appearances, and even though they won’t be playable at launch, that could change in the future.
In a recent interview,Devil May Cry 5director Hideaki Itsuno stated that if enough players desire it, Capcom could add more playable characters as DLC. Trish and Lady would most likely the first ones to be included, having been made playable for the first time in the re-release ofDevil May Cry 4, but this could also mark the return of Dante’s antagonistic brother Vergil, who has also been heavily rumored to appear inDMC5, with some fans speculating that he’s the one who cut off Nero’s arm.
Itsuno also revealed how long it would take to clear the game, stating it would take around 15 hours. While that may not sound particularly lengthy, this would make it the longest game in the series. And in a time where players are becoming overwhelmed with triple-A titles that all last nearly a hundred hours, something a bit shorter might seem more appealing to some.
This follows on from news that, while the game’s Xbox One demo has been de-listed, it will be getting a brand new one which will also becoming to the PS4in early February. This means that owners of the Sony console can get to enjoy a taste of whatDevil May Cry 5has to offer before its release.
Though there’s clearly a lot of excitement surrounding the title, some fans have expressed concerns with the decision toinclude microtransactions, which could have a negative effect on game progression. This has been a particular concern of fans given the controversies that surroundedStar Wars Battlefront 2last year.
Devil May Cry 5will release on March 8th, 2019 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One
