Thecast ofResurrection, for instance, included big names from the original series, like Arthur Mitchell (John Lithgow) and Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits).
Dexter: Resurrectionepisode 4, however, took the sequel show’s connection toDextereven further. Dexter: Resurrection Finally Reveals What Happened To The Blood Slides Doakes Stole From Him In Dexter Season 2
Dexter’s Blood Slides Were Evidence, But Leon Prater Bought Them From An FBI Agent
InDexterseason 2, James Doakes (Erik King) stole the box of blood slides that Dexter took from his victims as trophies. He was going to use them to expose Dexter as the Bay Harbor Butcher, butthe blood slides were found in the trunk of his car and Doakes was essentially framed for all of Dexter’s murders.
Maria LaGuerta (Luna Lauren Velez) later got the blood slides from the FBI when she was investigating Dexter as the Bay Harbor Butcher inDexterseason 7. However, when Maria was murdered, the blood slides weren’t a huge priority, and we had no idea what happened to them. It wasn’t a huge mystery, but it was an unanswered question nonetheless.
Dexter: Resurrection episode 4 revealed that Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage) bought the blood slides “from an FBI agent with a gambling problem.”
For years, we assumed Dexter’s first box of blood slides would be eternally locked away in some FBI evidence locker.Dexter: Resurrectionepisode 4, however, revealed that Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage) bought the blood slides “from an FBI agent with a gambling problem.“That not only revealed where the blood slides ended up, but also that they were back in FBI custody.
We now know thatDexter’s first box of blood slides isn’t rotting in an FBI evidence locker but safe and sound in Leon Prater’s morbid museum of serial killer paraphernalia.Resurrectionmay even give Dexter a chance to get his original blood slides back. We’ve already seen how the alarm on Prater’s museum works, and Dexter has more than enough reason to want them back.
Dexter Is Starting A Risky New Blood Slide Collection In Resurrection
Dexter Took A Blood Slide From Lowell, But He Has So Much Heat On Him Already
Dexter: Resurrectionisn’t done with Dexter’s blood slides yet, though. After he killed Lowell (Neil Patrick Harris), Dexter took a new blood slide from him. It’s the first time he’s taken a blood slide sinceDexterseason 7 - he made but didn’t keep one inNew Blood- and he’s presumably going to resurrect the practice for the rest ofPrater’s serial killers.
This, however, is possibly the riskiest moment Dexter could have chosen to restart his blood slide collection.Angel Batista (David Zayas) is onto him, and he’s already convinced the NYPD to start looking into both Dexter and Harrison. Having a blood slide around is just one more vulnerability in Dexter’s cover story and another way for him to get caught.

It does make sense thematically for Dexter to restart his blood slide collection.Resurrectionis a rebirth for Dexter and a return to the form of the original series. Taking blood slides as trophies is something Dexter does when he’s in his element, and even though he’s in danger, he feels confident again. It’s risky, butDexter: Resurrectionlikes taking risks.
