The 2025 Dexter sequel series,Dexter: Resurrection, establishes a clear replacement for a missing character that notably did not return after the events ofNew Blood’sfinale. Only a handful ofactors who appeared inNew Bloodappear inResurrection, including Michael C. Hall, Jack Alcott, and David Zayas.
As shown inDexter: Resurrectionepisodes 1 and 2, Harrison left Iron Lake after shooting his father, Dexter, and still believes that he killed him. Haunted by killing both his father and a guest at the hotel where he works, who turned out to be a sexual predator,Harrison doesn’t have many people to rely on except for one friendly coworker, Elsa.

Neither Audrey Nor Angela Bishop Are expected To Return For Resurrection
Harrison andAudrey Bishop, played by Johnny Sequoyah, were a romantic pairing inNew Blood, but her character isn’t returning inResurrection. Now, it looks like his new romantic interest will be Elsa Rivera, his coworker at a luxurious Manhattan hotel, played by Emilia Suárez (A Good Person,Up Here).
Elsa has a son from a previous relationship and clearly likes Harrison, although it isn’t exactly clear to what degree after the first handful of Resurrection episodes.
Harrison isn’t given much closure with Audrey, the daughter of Iron Lake Police Chief Angela Bishop, with whom Dexter had a romantic relationship before Harrison came to town.Both Audrey and Angela’s roles in the franchises were basically cut offafterNew Bloodended, and neither is expected to make it down to NYC inResurrection.

She Could Become Harrison’s Version Of The Tragic & Innocent Rita
In the OGDextershow, Dexter’s big romance was withRita, who had kids from a previous relationship, Astor and Cody, whom Dexter came to love. Dexter even looked after them while also living a double life as a serial killer before Harrison was born in season 4.
InResurrection,Harrison already has a close bond with Elsa and often watches her son. Some of those early internal conflicts about Harrison being a killer while trying to maintain a sense of normalcy with Elsa and her son may come into play later on in the season.
While it’s still too early to tell, the initial parallels between Elsa and Harrison could have deadly consequences for Elsa inDexter: Resurrection. The beginning of the series showed Dexter recalling all the innocent people who died because of him, including Rita. Since Harrison is now following in his footsteps, he may face a similar fate.
