EA has updated its official website to display a whole newNeed for Speedcountdown timer which probably points to a new game in the popular racing game series.EA’s Quarterly reportdid confirm that a newNeed for Speedgame was in the works, but there has been no concrete information regarding the upcoming game at all.
The originalNeed for Speedlaunched back in August 1994, and the franchise will be celebrating its 25th anniversary by the end of this month. It looks like EA kept the new game under tight wraps to surprise the fanbase with something spectacular for the anniversary.

Back in May, EA Dice team member who goes by the screen nameBenWalke published a blog poststating that the upcoming release is going to build a new future for the company’s longest-running racing-game series. He also claimed that the team is completely focused on building and delivering the best game they possibly can. So far, EA has been tight-lipped regarding their upcoming racing game, but Walke did state that the eventual reveal of the game would be a full unveiling.
The countdown timer is at 01 Days 23 Hours at the time of writing. If BenWalkes statement is to be believed, then in nearly 47 hours, EA will be giving everyone a full taste of their upcomingNFSgame. What the “full unveiling” actually means is open to all kinds of speculation, but it’s safe to assume that the new game will carry on the legacy of its predecessors and offer a diverse experience.
The last title in the franchiseNeed for Speed Paybackcame out in 2017andoffered an open-world driving experience, but it did fall flat in terms of popularity as fans and critics gave it an average score at best. It remains to be seen what kind of changes the new entry brings, and what do the fans of the series think of the said changes.
A newNeed for Speedgame is currently in development for unspecified platforms.
