Elden Ring’s title may be more appropriate than ever, considering how long From Software fans have waited for the game’s release date to be announced, but it’s nonetheless a reality.Elden Ringis scheduled to be delivered on February 25. Between now and then, From Software and Bandai Namco will continue rolling out details about the highly anticipated RPG. One detail that appears to have leaked early is thatElden Ringwill have both Graphic and Performance visual modes, at least on PlayStation 5.

The leak comes as part of the recently published details regardingElden Ring’s collector’s edition. The GameStop listing for the PS5 version ofElden Ring’s collector’s edition has a list of planned features for the RPG. There are no surprises to be found with regards to these two visual modes forElden Ring. The Graphic Mode will prioritize resolution, offering “up to” 4K, which seemingly implies a dynamic resolution at work, and likely also means a 30FPS target.Performance Modewill instead prioritize frame rate, offering “up to” 60FPS and likely dropping resolution significantly. Without technical analysis of the final game, however, it’s exact specifications of each mode aren’t clear.

This will be the first time that aFrom Softwaregame offers console gamers the option between prioritizing visuals or frame rate and is certain to be warmly welcomed. Some From Software fans will love the option to makeElden Ringas visually impressive as possible. Gameplay-focused fans will get an option for 60FPS, an optimal choice for crisp combat and reaction times. While it’s a shame that hardware doesn’t currently support both 4K and 60fps, having the option between the two is the next best thing.

It should be acknowledged, of course, that this isn’t a guaranteed confirmation thatElden Ringwill have these visual options. While GameStop’s listing ofElden Ringis very likely officially provided, untilBandai Namcoannounces it, there’s always the possibility that plans change. Also note that this is a PS5 listing forElden Ring, so it’s unclear if it’s a next-gen exclusive feature for the time being. It’s unlikely plans would change at this point, but anything’s possible.
