Numerous stars have cycled in and out ofThe Young and the Restless, andfive of them are joining the list of former cast members in 2025.The CBS soap opera has been on the air since March 1973. Now, 52 seasons and over 13,000 episodes ofThe Young and the Restlesslater, the series is still running, but the cast has vastly changed.

Some of the current cast members ofThe Young and the Restlessare veterans who have been around for decades.Actors like Eric Braeden, Peter Bergman, and Melody Thomas Scott have become staples in the show. Meanwhile, others are new faces who freshen up the soap opera. Unfortunately, fans must say goodbye to some of the stars ofThe Young and the Restlessin 2025.

5Conner Floyd

Played Phillip “Chance” Chancellor

Conner Floyd is leavingThe Young and the RestlessforDays of Our Livesin 2025.Floyd has starred as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor in the CBS soap opera since 2021,appearing in 269 episodes and cementing his mark on the show. Unfortunately, the actor has already filmed his last episode as Chance and started working onDays of Our Lives.

Floyd is set to replace Billy Flynn as Chad DiMera inDays of Our Lives, starting in April 2026. Since the Peacock soap opera films their episodes many months in advance, Floyd has already begun working on theDays of Our Livesset. However, while fans must wait almost a year to see Floyd as the new Chad, they have to bid farewell to his portrayal of Chance much sooner.

Colleen Zenk as Jordan in The Young and the Restless

It’s unclear what willhappen to Chance inThe Young and the Restlessin the wake of Floyd’s departure. The TV series first introduced Chance in the late 1980s,meaning his presence is significant. The Powers That Be must do right by Floyd’s character, whether that means finding a way to write him out of the show or recasting him (which they have done multiple times before).

4Ray Wise

Played Ian Ward

Ray WiseexitedThe Young and the Restlessin January 2025. His character, Ian Ward, was (spoiler alert) shot and killed during a shootout with Eric Braeden’s Victor Newman, finally bringing their feud to an end. Ian had wanted Victor dead for a long time, given the grudge that he held against his family. Now, Victor and co. seemingly don’t have to worry about Ian anymore.

God’s Not Dead 2

Peter Kane

The Young and the Restlessintroduced Wise as Ian in 2014,and the actor left the show a couple of years later when his character was imprisoned. Ian returned in 2024, though, to once again terrorize Victor and the Newman family. Sadly, for Ian, his story didn’t have a happy ending in the CBS soap opera.

In total,Wise appeared in 91 episodes ofThe Young and the Restless. There’s always a chance that the series will bring Wise back and reveal that Ian never actually died in future episodes (this isThe Young and the Restless, after all). But, for now, Wise’s character is dead, and he’s no longer a part ofthe cast ofThe Young and the Restless.

3Linden Ashby

Played Cameron Kirsten

Linden Ashby’s Cameron Kirsten is sadly no longer a part of theYoung and the Restlessuniverse. The CBS TV series initially introduced Ashby as Cameron in 2003,but the actor left one year later. Almost two decades later, it was announced that Ashby wasreturning toThe Young and the Restless. However, like before, his second run on the show was relatively short.

Cameron came back toThe Young and the Restlessjust to die. Ashby’s character wasn’t exactly a good guy, and upon his return, Cameron kidnapped Faith Newman. Sharon and Nick Newman came to rescue their daughter, and the confrontation ended withSharon stabbing Cameron in the chest, killing him. However, that wasn’t the last time the audience saw Cameron.

Linden Ashby is known for portraying Sheriff Noah Stilinski in allsix seasons ofTeen Wolf.

Despite his death, Ashby soon reprised his role as Cameron inThe Young and the Restless. Sharon began hallucinating him. She couldn’t get Cameron out of her head, but he eventually disappeared, withAshby’s final episode airing on June 10, 2025.Cameron helped Sharon escape from Jordan Howard and bid her farewell.

2Colleen Zenk

Played Jordan Howard

Colleen Zenk isanotherYoung and the Restlesscast memberwho left in 2025. Zenk has portrayed Jordan Howard in the series since 2023. However, before that, the actress famously starred as Barbara Ryan in the CBS soap operaAs the World Turns.Zenk was on the TV show for over 30 years, from 1978 up until its cancelation in 2010.

Thirteen years later, Zenk returned to the soap opera world via her role as Jordan inThe Young and the Restless. Like many other characters in the show, Jordan wasn’t exactly an angel. In fact, she was Ian Ward’s friend and helped him in his devious pursuits. Like Ian,Jordan exitedThe Young and the Restlessin a body bag.

Colleen Zenk was nominated for three Daytime Emmys for her performance as Barbara Ryan inAs the World Turns(one for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2001 and two for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2002 and 2011).

Jordan knew her back was against the wall, and instead of letting others control her fate, she took it into her own hands. Jordan drank poison and died during the episode that aired on July 20, 2025. Following her character’s death,Zenk expressed her disappointment about her exit fromThe Young and the Restlesswhile speaking withTV Insider. The actress said:

“I’m sad Jordan went away so quickly. I thought that Ian and Jordan would go out like Bonnie and Clyde together.”

1Allison Lanier

Played Summer Newman

Allison Lanier said goodbye toThe Young and the Restlessand her character, Summer Newman, in 2025. The actress first joined the cast in 2022, taking overthe role of Summer from Hunter King, who had played the daughter of Nick Newman and Phyllis Summers for 10 years. However,Lanier stepped away fromThe Young and the Restlessin May 2025.She announced her exit onX.

As of the writing of this article, CBS’The Young and the Restlesshasn’t recast Summer. In Lanier’s last episode, her character set off for Italy and hasn’t been seen since. Given the significance of Lanier’s former role, though, it’s likely only a matter of time before another actress steps in to play Summer inThe Young and the Restless.

New episodes ofThe Young and the Restlessair weekdays (Monday through Friday) at 12:30 pm ET on CBS. Fans can also stream the soap opera on Paramount+.
