Reports are circulating claiming that Ewan McGregor just revealed he’s inAhsokaseason 2, but all may not be what it seems. Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reunited in theObi-Wan KenobiTV show, and they’ve both made it clear they’d love to work together again.
New reports from Fan Expo Boston claim that McGregor has just confirmed he’s returning inAhsokaseason 2. According toNexus Point News, he accidentally revealed it, saying:
“We begin shooting season two [of Ahsoka] soon - wait, was I supposed to say that?”

Both McGregor and Christensen attended Fan Expo Boston, and they even shared a brief moment together. Unfortunately,press were not allowed to record the panel. However,ScreenRant’s own Liz Declan was present, and she confirmed thatMcGregor was actually talking about his wife.
Star Warshas always been a family businessfor McGregor, andhis wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead was cast as Hera Syndulla inAhsokaseason 1. She is indeed returning inAhsokaseason 2; indeed, in context, McGregor was discussing how he’ll facetime his wife, only to find she’s wearing the green Twi’lek facepaint.
Colliderhas now chimed in, however; the media partner at this event,Colliderhas the transcripts. According to their report, McGregor was asked about his favoriteStar Warsstory - notably that he’s not a part of.
“Well, I like watching my wife, you know, so I really enjoyedAhsoka. I thought that was brilliantly done. It’s so funny, like, you know,she’s shooting the second season nowand I know. Is that a secret?”

This Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Ewan McGregor ISN’T In Ahsoka Season 2
It is still possible that McGregor will appear inAhsokaseason 2, reprising the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi alongside Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano. This could either involve appearing as a Force Ghost, or via the mystical realm known as theWorld Between Worlds. This has already allowedAhsokaseason 1 to revisit the Clone Wars in live-action.
“Before Hayden arrived,” Liz recalled, “Ewan said he’d love to return, would love to work with Hayden again, and would really like to wear the Clone Wars armor.“That last comment is one McGregor has been making for some months now, leading many to speculate Lucasfilm is either discussing a live-actionClone Warsshow or more flashbacks inAhsokaseason 2.
McGregor’s hopes were, however, presented as though they are purely hypothetical - not factual. At this stage, it is simply not possible to say whether Ewan McGregor is inAhsokaseason 2 or not; what seems certain, though, is thathe hasn’t just indicated one way or the other.
