PlayStationSize on Twitter has now revealed the total amount of space required for next month’sPlayStation Pluslineup.GhostrunnerandTeam Sonic Racingwill require a modest 11.129 GB and approximately 15 GB respectively. The PS5 version ofGhost of Tsushima: Legendsneeds 62.783 GB, with the PS4 version taking up 40.731 GB of space.ARKis the biggest game on this list as it requires 99.547 GB of space. Fans should note that PS4 games take a bit of extra space on PS5 which is listed under the “other” category.
The PS5 SSD can only fit 667 GB of games, so some fans may want to install a second SSD or opt for an external drive.Seagate had recently announced a new partnership with PlayStationand users can even purchase aHorizon Forbidden WestLimited Edition Game Drive, with options for 2 TB and 5 TB storage space.
The PS5 has some impressive compression techniquesand as a result, sizes for many games are lower than their PS4 counterpart. But fans still have to download an astonishing amount of data for some games. Using Sony’s first-party games as examples,Horizon Forbidden Westtakes around 97 GB of space and the upcomingGran Turismo 7will reportedly need around 110 GB.
Upgrading the total storage will come in handy in the future, especially whenSony launches Project Spartacus. Project Spartacus rumored to be an Xbox Game Pass competitor, and Sony will reportedly offer 3 tiers as a part of this service. One will be the same as the current model of PlayStation Plus, with the second tier giving access to a big catalog of games. The most expensive option will reportedly allow players to stream games and offer other bonuses.
