This newAhsokaseason 2 theory sets up one of the bestStar Warsvillains, but also makes her all the more familiar.Ahsokaseason 2 is one of the fewupcomingStar Warsshowswe know about, and despite getting ateaser at Star Wars Celebration 2025in Japan, the plot details are still extremely thin. Despite this, audiences can expect to see battles taking place in two separate galaxies.

It’s known thatAhsokaseason 1’s big bad,Grand Admiral Thrawn, will be causing chaos in the mainStar Warsgalaxy and will be facing off against Admiral Ackbar, but little is known about what will be happening in Peridea. The teaser from Star Wars Celebration alludes to another duel between Ahsoka Tano and Baylan Skoll.

Little else is known about Ahsoka and Sabine Wren’s journey home and what struggles they will face beforehand. However, this particular theory capitalizes on a behind-the-scenes reveal that could allude to the real big bad ofAhsokaseason 2.

BTS Photo Shows Diana Lee Inosanto With The Ahsoka Season 2 Cast

Indicating That Morgan Elsbeth Will Return

For Dave Filoni’s birthday,Ahsokastar Rosario Dawson shared a photoof her and other cast members spending time together. Among those in the photo isMorgan Elsbeth actor Diana Lee Inosanto, who has not been confirmed to appear inAhsokaseason 2.Morgan Elsbeth was killed by Ahsoka Tano in theAhsokaseason 1 finale after being struck by both Ahsoka’s lightsaber and theBlade of Talzin.

It’s unknown what happened to Morgan’s body after Grand Admiral Thrawn destroyed the Nightsister temple. However, consideringthe Nightsisters' ability to reanimate dead beings, it doesn’t seem completely impossible that Morgan would come back from the dead, whether it be from a spell from the Great Mothers or a resurrection similar to Asajj Ventress’ inTales of the Underworld. However, there is also another, and much more curious, explanation for how Morgan Elsbeth could return.

Could Morgan Elsbeth Become Abeloth?

The Legends Villain Has Been Rumored To Appear

Since theAhsokaseason 1 finale revealed massive statues of theMortis godson Peridea, it’s been rumored thatAhsokawas setting up an appearance byAbeloth. In theStar WarsLegends continuity,Abeloth was the fourth member of the Mortis gods: the Mother. However, unlike the Father, Daughter, or Son, she was actually a mortal who craved to be immortal and remain with her family. Through a dark side nexus, Abeloth eventually gained immortality, but her mind was twisted and made her into a malevolent cosmic being.

Abeloth could inhabit and reanimate Morgan Elsbeth’s body, and possibly benefit from her dark side attachments through her Nightsister magick.

With Abeloth potentially being a big bad forAhsokaseason 2 and beyond,it’s possible that this cosmic being would take hold of a more mortal and approachable host in Morgan Elsbeth. Abeloth could inhabit and reanimate Morgan Elsbeth’s body, and possibly benefit from her dark side attachments through her Nightsister magick. Not only would this theory bring back Diana Lee Inosanto, but it would also be an interesting way of having the Abeloth character interact with the others stranded on Peridea.

The Clone Wars Has Shown Us This Is Possible

With Both Ahsoka And Anakin

While possession and evil beings inhabiting others haven’t really been seen often inStar Wars, there is a precedent that would allow Abeloth to take over Morgan Elsbeth’s body. InStar Wars: The Clone Wars, the Daughter’s essence was placed into Ahsoka Tano’s body after the Padawan had died. This revived her, and though Ahsoka was still the same character, her connection to the light side of the Force was strengthened and more obvious.

It’s worth noting that in the Mortis arc inThe Clone Wars, the reason why Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Obi-Wan Kenobi went to Mortis was because the Father wanted to pass his powers onto Anakin. This shows thata mortal being can take on the powers of a Mortis god. While Anakin didn’t end up taking over for the Father, Ahsoka did take on the essence of the Daughter, indicating that the Son’s and Father’s roles could also be passed on.

Assuming Abeloth has similar powers to the Mortis gods, thenit’s entirely possible that her essence could be transferred to a mortal, similar to how the Daughter’s was passed to Ahsoka. It’s also possible that, because Abeloth is aligned with the dark side, she won’t need another person to do the transfer like Ahsoka needed Anakin.

This Could Explain Hayden Christensen’s Return As Anakin

Could We Get More Clone Wars Flashbacks?

IfAhsokaseason 2 were to bring in aspects of Abeloth’s story from Legends, thenit’s likely that Abeloth had been imprisoned by the Son and the Daughter on Peridea. After the death of the Father and Daughter inThe Clone Wars, the prison in which Abeloth was held may be breaking down, and she is looking to exert her will throughout the galaxy.

Abeloth likely knew that the Father was looking to relinquish his job to Anakin Skywalker. This may be how and why Hayden Christensen is returning as Anakin Skywalker inAhsokaseason 2.

It’s also possible that Abeloth will seek to restore Ahsoka and Anakin’s memories from their time on Mortis, and it may lead to more Clone Wars-era flashbacks that won’t just feature Hayden Christensen, but also Ewan McGregor. Not only would this be an awesome way to further enrich some ofThe Clone Wars’best episodes, but it would also help audience members who may not be familiar with the Mortis backstory.

While we only have a hint that Diana Lee Inosanto will be returning toStar Warsas Morgan Elsbeth, it’s a good bet that she will need to be revived in some way. If Dave Filoni is truly looking to bring Abeloth back intoStar Warscanon, then this would be the best way to do it.Ahsokaseemingly has many different storylines that will be going on all at the same time, so it will be interesting to see how they all eventually come together.
