Despite that, Audrey was still seen as villainous byGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriageseason 1’s ending. InFirst Marriageseason 1, episode 20, Georgie’s Mother’s Day poem for Mandy included a reference to being sorry she had to spend it with Audrey. Her protests against Mary’s attacks were seen as unreasonable, even if Mary behaved as badly as her.

Dealing with Mary and Connie brought out the worst in Audrey inGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriageseason 1’s second half, but apart from them, she was surprisingly and relatively gentle when the McAllisters were involved.

Even if Audrey proved herself and showed how much she had changed for the better regarding supporting her entire family, Georgie included,Mandy and Georgie never gave Audrey the benefit of the doubt. Like them, everyone among the McAllisters and the Coopers expected the worst from Audrey, as if she were always disagreeable, unable to have the capacity for change.

Although Georgie won Jim over almost immediately inYoung Sheldon, Audrey was determined not to like her son-in-law. That was the case for a good chunk ofGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriageseason 1, until Audrey gradually warmed up to him, softening her stance not because of Georgie’s attempts at flattery but because she accepted she could change her mind.

Georgie accidentally proved his worth to Audrey time and time again. From his idea to drive the tow truck whenever somebody called, to his insistence on getting new tires for the shop,Audrey found herself welcoming and supporting Georgie’s inventiveness. Their joint venture to make McAllister Auto & Tires a welcoming place for women only cemented their seemingly friendlier bond.

Audrey’s character development even revealed itself in her relationship with Mandy. IfGeorgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s series premiere showed Audrey being purposefully harsh towards Mandy and Georgie, especially when their relationship was the topic being discussed, she toned down her cruel remarks to a minimum by the end ofFirst Marriageseason 1.

Not only that, butAudrey consistently proved herself to be Mandy’s career’s biggest supporter, showing how much she was in her corner in multiple ways. From buying her a dress to wear while covering as a weather girl to being on her side when Jim and Georgie underappreciated her work at home, Audrey truly heard Mandy and understood her.
