During San Diego Comic-Con 2017, the American collectible manufacturer NECA (AKA the National Entertainment Collectibles Association) officially declared a partnership withSony Interactive Entertainment’s Santa Monica Studio to create an action figure based on Kratos, the protagonist from the forthcoming PlayStation 4-exclusiveGod of War. Although the company didn’t mention price details for the toy (ToyWiz.com currently has it listed for $22, however), the New Jersey-based firm made sure to note on its website that the action figure will be available sometime in December 2017.
As seen in the two images below,God of Warfans will find a highly intricate level of detail in NECA’s Kratos action figure, with the sculpt of the character accurately portraying all of his physical features and accoutrements found in Sony’s promotional wares that have been shared for the game so far. As far as its technical qualities are concerned, the Kratos toy will stand at seven inches tall, it will have 30 different points of articulation, and it will come with the protagonist’s magic axe and shield accessories.
For those unaware, this won’t be the first time that NECA has partnered with Sony to create a toy based on the Ghost of Sparta. As it so happens, the collectible manufacturer released what it called the Ultimate Kratos Action Figure back in September 2015, with the figure modeled after theGod of War 3version of the character, including the Nemean Cestus gauntlets and his iconicBlades of Chaos.
Beyond NECA’s nice-looking action figure for Kratos, theGod of Wargame itself seems to be coming along quite nicely, as itsE3 2017 trailershowed that a huge amount of progression has occurred since its debut at the event in 2016. As of now, Santa Monica Studio has a somewhat open release window for the title being sometime early next year, but hopefully the developer will be able to confirm a more exact launch date within the coming weeks and months.
God of Waris currently scheduled to launch in early 2018 for PlayStation 4.
