Base building is one of the key gameplay systems inGrounded, giving players the opportunity to create constructions that will protect them from some of the title’s many dangers. That said, certain fans will undoubtedly notice that they are not immediately able to make floors for their bases in this newsurvival game, and that may leave some players to wonder how exactly they can get access to this structural element.
To make floors inGroundedfans should start by working through the game’s story quests. Specifically, players must reach the quest that instructs them to investigate the explosion at the oak tree, and indeed they should head to that location. Upon arrival, fans should make their way inside and towards the room in the back where they will find a robot called BURG.L.

NowGroundedplayersshould pickup the Grasslands BURG.L Chip that is on the floor directly next to the robot, interact with the machine, and select “I found a BURG.L chip.” This will prompt the robot to insert the chip into its head, and players should now select “I’ll trade you some Raw Science” to see what the it has to offer. The offering that is relevant to this guide is the one listed as “Multi-Story Bases,” which costs 1,000 Raw Science and unlocks flooring.
Once a fan has made their purchase from BURG.L they can then return to their base and build floors for it at a rate of four Grass Planks per panel. These Grass Planks are obtained by chopping down grass stalks with an axe inGrounded, and players will need to collect quite a number of them if they hope to add a floor to the entirety of their bases in this title fromObsidian Entertainment.
To note,Groundedis in early accessat the time of writing, which means that the exact method for building floors could change over time. However, it seems likely that the way to access the blueprint and the materials required to actually craft the flooring will remain fairly consistent into the game’s final release, whenever that may come.
