While many gaming fans are presently content with the platforms that the current generation has to offer, there are always some who continue to look toward the future to wonder and predict what kind of cutting-edge technology and hardware will be offered to consumers. One such person is Wedbush Securities analystMichael Pachter, who recently stated that he believes bothHalo 6andGears of War 5will launch for the Xbox One and not be pushed back to Microsoft’s next-gen hardware.
Pachter predicted as much to GamingBolt, with the Wedbush Securities analyst stating that he believes the follow up to the Xbox One won’t come until quite a while from now, withHalo 6andGears of War 5being first-party titles to grace the current generation of gamers. According to Pachter, “I think Xbox Two, or whatever they call it, will be a 2020 event, so I will be very surprised if we don’t getHaloandGearsbefore that.”
Naturally, many Xbox One fans would be elated to have bothHalo 6andGears of War 5see releases during the current generation, especially when one considers the dearth of first-party titles that the platform is experiencing at the moment. If Pachter is correct, one will be launched significantly earlier than the other, though, with the analyst saying, “If I had to bet,Halothis year,Gearsnext year. I think Microsoft has been very quiet, but we’re getting them in the next two years.”
Interestingly enough, Pachter is also hedging his bets when it comes to the launch of the next Xbox console, with the Wedbush Securities analyst saying, “If I’m wrong about what year the next Xbox launches in, then I think one of them will be a launch title. It won’t be exclusive, I think it will be old gen and new gen, like Nintendo did withBreath of the Wildon Wii U and Switch.” Should he be right on this front, then Microsoft would definitely be doing its best to please all of its fans, but perhaps we will learn more at the company’s E3 2018 press conference.
