What Type Of Game Is Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem ’98
Think Of It Like An Oddball Sports Game
Happy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem ’98is a gag gamethat bears a resemblance to some of the “extreme sports” titles of the 1990s and 2000s, right down to its visual style. At its core, you’re driving golf balls down a course, but you can also explore the surrounding area beyond the green and trigger specific scenes that reference the movie series. In some ways, this could have been an actual game, and bears a resemblance to the early graphical era of theTony Hawk’s Pro Skaterfranchise.
With Happy’s signature hockey stick “golf club,” you have control over the direction you shoot, as well as the power of said shot, just like a classic arcade golfing game. The meandering makes the demo, and it made me want to replay some of the wackier sports games of years past, includingTony Hawk’s Underground. If you enjoyedHappy Gilmore 2, giveHappy Gilmore: Golf Mayhem ’98a shot: it won’t take up too much of your time.
