Developer Jam City first flirted with romance options inHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysterya couple of years ago, but now it’s been confirmed that the feature will no longer be tied to special events and will instead be here to stay as a permanent gameplay feature.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryplayers can now go on dates whenever they please, with a new relationship levels that can be increased through gameplay. Once players have enough points, they can complete relationship milestones with their significant other to unlock new side quests and other activities. According to Jam City, this will also open the door fornewHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysterylocationsthat players can visit on their dates. Players will have the option to exclusively date their chosen partner or break up with them if they’d rather pursue other romantic options.

Besides the new romance options,Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryplayers can also participate in aspecial Valentine’s Day side quest, assuming they’ve progressed to least Year 5 Chapter 9 in the game. In this side quest, players have to make the Valentine’s Day dance more entertaining, while also planting “a seed of love” between the characters Madam Pince and Mr. Filch

Permanentromance options inHarry Potter: Hogwarts Mysteryis something that the community has been asking for since launch, so it’s good to see it finally being added to the game. It could very well be the kind of feature that brings back lapsed players and convinces diehard fans to stay dedicated, so it will be interesting to see how fans react to its implementation in the days and weeks ahead.
