In a recent AMA on Reddit, the team behindOverwatchanswered questions from fans of all varieties. While many had franchise-specific questions, such as thelikelihood ofcrossplay inOverwatch 2, others looked outside the series. One question which warranted an interesting answer from developers was which hero they’d like to see inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Ever sinceSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatebegan allowing third-party characters in the game, nearly every franchise has seemingly had at least one representative that would make a good fit. NowOverwatch’s Jeff Kaplan, the game director, and Geoff Goodman, the lead hero designer, have given their two cents on the matter.

When asked the question, Kaplan responded first, quickly saying that Tracer would be his number one pick as a rep in the fighting game. Goodman followed suit, claiming thatOverwatch’sDoomfistwould be another good choice forSmash Bros, and then discussion in the comments ensued.

Of course, including Tracer inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatewould make a lot of sense, as she is the effectively the face of the franchise and easily the most marketable. Beyond that, she also has a lot of unique abilities that could manifest in interesting ways inSmash Bros. Most notably, her iconic Recall ability would be very cool to see in that game. Perhaps as her down special she could return to whatever percentage and position she was at a few seconds earlier, though an ability this powerful would certainly need to be limited in some way.

Of course, this is just the two developers sharing what they would like if it were to happen, and should not be taken as any form of indication that either character will be making it intoSmash. Even so, it would be very cool to see anOverwatchrepresentative in the game, but the most recentrumors suggest the nextSmash Ultimatefighter is fromPokemon.

Overwatchis available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
