You can find him in Pokéstops and Rocket Balloons, but it is vital you know his team this month and the best team to counter it if you want to have a chance at winning.

An Unchanged But Strong Line-up
Despitethe new Delightful Days seasonstarting inPokémonGOin June, none of the Team GO Rocket members' line-ups have changed, including Giovanni’s. He will use a line-up of five Pokémon, choosing three for each battle. His opening Pokémon and his final Pokémon will always be set for each battle, but his second Pokémon will change at random between three options each time.
Giovanni will always start withPersianand nowfinishes with the Legendary PokémonDialga. His second Pokémon will be out ofGeneration 1 favorites Kangaskhan and Nidoking, or Rhyperior.

Fighting-type attacks are super-effective against four of his possible five Pokémon, Persian, Kangaskhan, Rhyperior and Dialga.Lucario, is statistically the best Fighting-type attacker and if you have its Mega form, you should start with it. Fighting-types are so crucial in defeating Giovanni this month, you should include a second in your team.MegaHeracross,MegaBlaziken,Terrakionand Machamp are all great options, as back-up if Lucario can’t take down Giovanni on his own.
All of Giovanni’s Pokémon are Shadow variants, further increasing their stats inPokémonGO.
While Fighting-types are important, it is also worth taking a Ground-type Pokémon into the battle as well in case Giovanni selects Nidoking as his second choice Pokémon. Gen 3Groudonis the strongest possible Ground-type attackerinPokémonGO, so if you have caught one, it is the best option to finish your line-up.

While it is still tough to catch Dialga, you can improve your chances of doing so by using Golden Berries and Ultra Balls.
For defeating Boss Giovanni this month, you will also receive5,000Stardust, which can be used to power up any Pokémon you have previously caught. Additionally, you will receive some of the more common in-game items. These will be chosen at random out of Max Revives, Revives, Max Potions, Potions and an Unova Stone. Giovanni’s line-up for July 2025 remains one of the easiest he has had to defeat, as long as you base your team around Fighting-type Pokémon inPokémonGO.
