The intro village sequence in the originalResident Evil 4is one of the most iconic moments in any horror game, and Capcom is, of course, bringing it back in high fidelity thanks to the upcoming remake of the fourth mainlineREgame. The title is set to launch in just a couple of weeks, but to whet fans' appetite for the terrifying third-person shooter,a demo has been releasedthat gives players a chance to experience the village scene all over again to face off against one of the more well-known enemies, the Chainsaw man, as well as a bunch of other infected baddies.

For those that would like to check out a slice of theResident Evil 4remake before it comes out, a downloadable demo is now live on all the major digital storefronts, like the PSN store, Xbox Live, and Steam.
To download it, you must sign in with the appropriate account and click these links to go directly to the product page.
For anyone trying to download the demo directly through a console, giving the store a quick search for ‘Resident Evil 4’or ‘Chainsaw demo’ should show the proper results. The demo comes in at about 11-12 gigabytes, soResident Evilfansshould verify they have enough space for the demo installation.
How Long is the Demo?
We played the demo and finished it in about 12 minutes. While a ton of enemies will appear once playersget to the village, the whole encounter is set on a timer. It may seem impossible to fight off everyone, including the Chainsaw guy, but as long as players survive for a few minutes, they’ll clear the demo. For anyone struggling to finish it without dying, make sure to search around the homes and other areas to find ammo, herbs (for healing), grenades, and more.
Players can go into their storage while the game is paused, making it easy to craft items and just take a breather.
Resident Evil 4Remakelaunches on June 19, 2025, for PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
