Unlike normal Nargacuga, which has the original Nargacuga Mantle, the Cloudy Moonshard is a Lucent drop and can only be obtained by fighting one. This guide will helpMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakplayers defeat Lucent Nargacuga and earn a Cloudy Moonshard.

How To Get The Cloudy Moonshard

As mentioned before, the Cloudy Moonshard can only be obtained by fighting a Lucent Nargacuga. Therefore, players will need to farm one until they eventually acquire the Cloudy Moonshard. To unlock Lucent Nargacuga, hunters must first reach Master-Rank level 10 and defeat all the previous Title Update 1 monsters. This includes Seething Bazelgeuse, Gold Rathian, and Silver Rathalos. After all of them are defeated, Doctor Tadori will have an Urgent quest to either capture or kill a Lucent Nargacuga.

Players should note that the Cloudy Moonshard is one of the rarest drops from a Lucent Nargacuga, and it may take a few attempts to earn one eventually. However, players can increase their odds of acquiring one by doing the following: capturing Lucent Nargacuga, breaking its head and tail, and severing the tail. These methods will further increase the odds of earning a Cloudy Moonshard. However, it may sound easy on paper, but fighting a Lucent Nargacuga is no joke, so it’s time to discuss how to fight and kill one properly.

How To Defeat Lucent Nargacuga

There are a few key differences between a normal Nargacuga and a Lucent one. For starters, Lucent Nargacuga can become invisible! However, players can still track their movements by focusing the camera on the Lucent Nargacuga while in combat until it becomes visible again.

Secondly, Lucent Nargacuga now trades its previous weakness of Thunder for Ice. Thunder-based weapons will no longer work and will be negated as it now has complete immunity to Thunder. However, as a trade-off, Lucent Nargacuga now has a minor weakness to the Dragon element as well.

Lastly,Lucent Nargacuga is nowadept at poisoning players. Unlike standard Nargacuga, who shoot regular spike darts at hunters, the Lucent versions shoot poison darts at players. On top of that, it has a variety of new moves to shoot poison darts as much as possible. The recommendation is to stick to Lucent Nargacuga as much as possible, as the poison darts will not hit players standing near it.

This monster is fast, dangerous, and packs a mean punch of poison for unsuspecting hunters. The final recommendation is to bring as many antidotes and potions as possible, as Lucent Nargacuga is arguably one of the strongest variant monsters in the game. But if hunters can prevail through the invisible chaos, they will eventually earn themselves a Cloudy Moonshard.
