Quan Chi is the second playable kombatant to be added toMortal Kombat 1through the game’s first Kombat Pack. Released in late 2023, thisfan-favorite fighteralready appears in the base version of the game as an NPC, but can now be used to rain torment down on unsuspecting opponents both on and offline.

As one might expect from such a villainous character, both of Quan Chi’s fatalities are incredibly brutal and serve as an excellent way to celebrate a hard-fought victory. Unfortunately, the button inputs for Quan Chi’s second fatality will need to be unlocked through character mastery, thoughMortal Kombat 1players can still use it if they already know which buttons to press.

Players can perform Quan Chi’s Pentamagic Trick fatality by pressing forward, back, forward, back, back punch while standing at medium range. If done correctly, Quan Chi will summon five panes of glass and drop them vertically on his opponent. He then pulls them apart, slicing the other kombatant into six pieces and revealing a rather gruesome cross-section. Some may find the fatality to be a little underwhelming when compared toother fatalities inMortal Kombat 1, though what these people might not realize is that the fatality is actually a reference to the split horse scene from Tarsem Singh’s 2000 psychological thriller,The Cell, and a pretty good one at that.

To perform Quan Chi’s second fatality, players will need to press down, forward, back, back kick while standing at medium range. Doing so will lead to Quan Chi casting a spell on the other fighter, causing them to yank their own eyes out and then twist their head around 180 degrees. They’ll then fall to their knees and hand it to Quan Chi, who can be seen celebrating the fatality with hisKameo fighterof choice.
